that's been old news from semiaccurate, but its very likely. If only windows phone would use x86.
notspammer, 18 Oct 2015This is just pr move from intel, intel lost billion dollar on their mobile division every year... moreIntel have the cash to burn to get a foothold in the mobile chip market. Of course they're going to start with crappy low cost chips. But they can easily go further once they have credibility and iron out the edges. Their 14nm is supposedly better too.
lashton, 18 Oct 2015Ha ha finally a company that Apple Physically cant affordThere is not a single company on this planet, that apple can't afford to buy, in a cash deal. No loans required.
Apple intends to cut the production cost and make a more higher profits.... Sucks!
so many IGNORANT ihaters..
dont get me wrong im a andriod and ios user , but guys please stop making yourself stupid, and most of you and just commenting BS!
lashton, 18 Oct 2015Ha ha finally a company that Apple Physically cant affordIntel is worth 150bln, Apple has 200bln money ready to use.
Ethos-Evoss, 18 Oct 2015I DON'T believe that company even one word! Whatever lets you sleep at night.
Muthu, 18 Oct 2015Apple can add 2 more cores in their mobile Soc? Only in your dreams buddy. The 2 cores in A9 o... moreThey're clocked at just 1.85GHz, while SD810 is clocked at 2.5GHz + 20nm. Hence is the heat. If Apple adds 2 more cores it won't face any problems regarding heat or whatever.
Space may be the problem with the current design. But in 1-2 iterations quad-core is fated for Apple, and at that time no snapdragon will stay close.
This is just pr move from intel, intel lost billion dollar on their mobile division every year, they even giving away some z3*** chipset series to asus for example. Single core performance of apple a9 already powerful like i7 mobile so no.
lol, 18 Oct 2015Prove it.Or you can simply Google it. Or 'iSearch'? I dunno
Anonymous, 18 Oct 2015I feel sorry for android users. Still in denial I see....There is no denial.
Apple following the android scene by implementing next year quad core soc.
At the moment their single core performance is top notch but then again their apps are designed for single core processing.
Otoh, hex core and octa core soc on android platform are much more better performing especially in multitask operating system.
Apple is sadly following this format with hexcore planned in A10 in iPhone 7.
Cakefish, 18 Oct 2015http://www.anandtech.com/show/9518/the-mobile-cpu-corecount-debateNice, but still not much point to choose 4 weaker cores over 2 stronger ones, if theoretically they can do the same amount of work there are still apps which can't be multithreaded very well.

pearl-quill, 18 Oct 2015A9 only has 2 cores, but wins quad-hexa-octa core processors in graphics and many other benchm... moreApple can add 2 more cores in their mobile Soc? Only in your dreams buddy. The 2 cores in A9 occupy similar space to octa-core Socs in Android world. Increase the core count any further with the same powerful cores, it would be another SD 810. In tablet Soc, apple can do even better, due to the larger space available, not in mobile Socs.
