HTC HD2 doesn't qualify for a Windows Phone 7 upgrade - read the full textBad news for the HTC HD2 owners: your beloved WinMo smartphones does not qualify for a Windows Phone 7 upgrade. The reason is more than ridiculous but you can't do anything to change the situation: the HD2 packs five hardware buttons instead of only 3. Yeap, the HTC HD2 has a zippy 1GHz...

HTC HD2 is great phone and no comparision with any other phone or OS
Many features of Win7 are with current version of HTC HD2.

HTC HD2 is always in demand. and I waited to get this phone for six months.

Beauty is Flashlight and Bing Maps. Voice activated search with Bing Maps is great.

For current WM 6.5 phones there'll be upgrade to 6.5.3, somehow similar to WP7S.
Microsoft said, they will support WM 6.5 for years, so what this moan is for?
When WP7S mobiles will be ready to sell, WM 6.5 phones prices will instantly drop; a good buy is near.
@"Oh please"; keep going this way!

@ Barcode

unless you are a programer you got no idea what Maemo is capable of. And you dont sound like a coder to me. Its a great OS but they arent all just meant to do quick actions and show txts and calls you know ;)

I somewhat dont understand the bullsh... explaination ... that 5 buttons is to much and cant work coz its not 3 button layout. When did the design effect the OS upgrade? If u get 5 buttons .. you make 2 useless and you get 3 buttons. Only means u get to have 2 other buttons to make other shortcuts doh.. Its a lame excuse because HD2 is one of the most powerful phones capable of having win7 up and running flawlessly but they want big bucks by ppl buying NEW phones not just hacked updates. Its to give them an edge over the coders for a short period of time thats all.

iPhone doesn't do much :P. HD2 really is the best on market now. Not for long but still. Too bad MS blew up everything with the button thing.

i like the HD2 just the way it is, who cares if its not upgrade-able to WinMo 7, which i'm sure it might just have more problems than WinMo 6.5 and run slower. so WinMo 6.5 is good and doing me just fine, what i'm loving is HTC's UI... wonderful!

Did microsoft just shoot themselves in the foot. With HTC HD2 and Win Phone 7 they and and great HTC team are the only real challengers to iphone at the moment - HTC as a winmo chassis producer is doing a great job - and then MS does this buttun thing - absurd. I was ready to go for the HTC HD2 but now have stalled my buying process - and I don't want to wait several months. I guess I'm not the only one going apple or android now with no likelihood of returning to WinMo .. Who's the marketing genius at MS - s/he has just STOPPED sales - but was supposed to increase sales ROFL
