The above suggested steps did not work for me. Using Windows 7 x64. Tried changing WM70Full.bin to WM70C1.en-US.bin and placing it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.0\Emulation\Images (renaming the file already in there) - got a message "Windows Phone emulator is doing a complete OS boot" ... now just waiting
I did all of things that you write. But there is an error.
Cannot open file
What can I do ?
I'll just upgrade my current windows to w7 no probs. i'll do it between rubs!
Cant wait. My HTC HD 2 has been waiting on this :)
Windows 7 and the HD 2 unbeatable combo!!!
FireDragon, 22 Mar 2010I like this thing in start but for now I will have to "BOOOO" to this until they wil... morewhat? This is a real OS, unlike some vanilla made out of the box overhyped piece of crap such as a fruit company and that other one from that internet company.
How to download Microsoft's Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone CTP in an offline mode?
Okay instead of all the run around that the instructions give you just click on the bin file once you've extracted and it will ask you to select a program to open with.. just navigate to the XDE.exe file and click that then viola thats it!
I get an error saying it cannot load WM70Full-.bin... the emulator loads up it just won't load the bin file and its in the right spot i've checked the path numerous times... what am i doing wrong.. its in my (x86) folder..??
checked it few days ago. ui is nice, but system us poorly functional.
what's more - windows phone appears to be phone system, not the smartphone...
The article comment 'more than perfect' about the performance shouldnt be made when emulating o mobile's os on a pc. The UI looks nice though.
Looks prety promissing. Works really really slow on a core2duo with 4 gigs of ram.. i don't know what's the deal with the emulator, but I really look forward to see it in action on a real handset. Nice work this time MS! Untill then, i'll feast my eyes/hands with "Rachael" ;)
