AnonD-124236, 08 Dec 2015If OLED is so good, why don't they use on TV's? Anybody knows? There are OLED TVs. And they are coming down in price, but are still quite expensive. But they are quite good. With true blacks.
But it takes quite a bit of investment, to build screens of the size of TVs. And a company cant combine it with their current LCD production, meaning they would need another productionline or make the switch completely to OLED.
OLEDs are great for TV screens.
But what I'm hoping for, is for LG to start producing large rollable OLED screens. I've been talking about it for years, even before LG started talking about it.
That way you could replace a projections system, with just a screen, that rolls down from your ceiling. And it would have true blacks, and blacks are really problematic when it comes to projectors.
AnonD-124236, 08 Dec 2015If OLED is so good, why don't they use on TV's? Anybody knows?yeah...some companies do use it for tvs but it's made to make the experience with movable devices like mobiles better by giving it a sharp and better picture in different situations e.g. darkness, brightness (sunlight) why are you gonna put a tv outside or carry with you on the bus???? they have dedicated memory for your living room experience to be the best it can!.
tell me what would you rather have a bigger version of your samsung s6 in your living room or a big 4K 3D tv. i know which i would choose
Because its expensive like hell in big screens... dãããã
regs, 08 Dec 2015Samsung's AMOLED is quite poor. You are entirely correct, except for the fact that reviewers everywhere and DisplayMate agree that Samsung's amoled is the best available.
Yup, it looks like JDI and JOLED will be the main suppliers for Apple; while Samsung will be the second biggest suppliers for Apple.
AnonD-362866, 08 Dec 2015They might still use Samsung Display as a back up, incase JDI cant keep up with demand.Samsung's AMOLED is quite poor.

I thought Samsung is pitching for foldable displays....are we still talking about huge mega phones almost 200 gms weighing in our pockets by 2018? Not sure if this is a bait (like Sapphire crystal) for their competitors to rush in and divert their attention.
Sony might be the happiest player if this news turns out to be true.. Coz JDI is a joint venture of Sony,Toshiba and Hitachi. Sony having the largest share ;-)
Copying Android much
If this turns out to be true... Poor Samsung lol
