This April: black HTC Desire for Orange, HTC HD mini for O2 in UK - read the full textApril is shaping up as quite a month for the industry - we just overheard that Orange UK will be the only carrier to sell the HTC Desire in black, while O2 UK is expecting the HTC HD mini (besides the Desire again). Anyway, here's the situation with the HTC Desire on Orange - they'll get it in...

got a htc desire on t-mobile about a week ago now.
also got a hero on the same network and wow... what a big difference the desire is.
for me the desire is so much better. cant belive the difference in speed the new processer makes.
definately my best phone yet, and ive had a few in my time.

Only Telstra sells the desire in Australia. They dont have it in stock until late April.Plus they brand there phones like there is no tommorrow.Orderd one from from expansys.com . It's cheaper to buy it from the uk. Is expansys any good ? Are they reliable ? they wont be getting stock for another 10 days for. I'll have mine in hopefully 2 weeks. After using the omnia i8910 for 2 months, I'm desperate to get my hands on the HTC Desire. Symbian is the crapiest OS someone can use on a touch screen phone.Regret selling my iphone for the i8910.

There is a software issue on the HTC Desire affecting the receiving of text messages on certain T-Mobile SIM cards.
Who does this issue affect?
If you have an old T-Mobile SIM, the service centre number may not automatically load.
What do you need to do?
Please complete the following steps to resolve the problem

Confirm that SMSC is missing by going to All Messages>Menu>Settings. Under SMS settings there should be an entry called Service Centre. If there is no number shown underneath this then the issue is present
Select Service Centre and a text entry box should appear.
Enter the T-Mobile SMSC number, +447958879879, into the box and click OK
Try sending an SMS which should be successful.
Power the device off and on again, send another SMS to ensure that settings have been saved.

i have got the htc desire on tmobile. really good handset and really responsive compared to the hero.

was going to get the x10 but as soon as i found out that the handset wasnt going to get the flash support i went straight for the desire. since i have played with the x10 and i have made the right decision.

if you are an android lover or are looking to get 1 of the handset i would definately recommend the desire over its rivals.

I got a chance too play with the HTC desire at Carphone warehouse. I it is avalible for Pre pay ( only only on orange) and post pay. The phoen works great the speed of the phone is very impressive. The Screen is very easy to read and the Brightness is one of the brightest I see after the Milestone.

The active wallpaper is great to play with, and also the weather widget.

But my favorite feature is the Controls on the camera. There are 3 sliders for contrast brightness and sharpness.
The phone is very similar to the Nexus.

My Carphone store and most in the city are fully stocked with Desires. Don't think we're having any stock issues at all. Beautiful phone too, was giving it a thorough test run on Monday!
