Zenodroid, 22 Jan 2016that zenphone will still use more power than any other phone below 5" with only 720p display. ... moreYeah. But everything depends on screen type LCD/amoled/sampled and etc. Also don't forget that more pixels makes phone processor make harder working, processor will need more power. As well as it will probably stay warm or have a small heat. So that's a simple logic that's why I think having lower resolution o mediocre specs is always better than have very sharp display. Some z5p is totally a joke with 4k display.
seems like asus midrange phone for 2016 is quite big, it reminds me of zenfone 6!
Herodroid, 22 Jan 2016no, actually more pixels = more battery it will take to be honest. Sure 1080p should be a stan... morei bet samsung galaxy alpha, would last longer on battery than that phone. even tho it has smaller battery and 720p samoled screen on 4.7".

Sure 1080p should be a stan... morethat zenphone will still use more power than any other phone below 5" with only 720p display. 1080p should be max on a phone, bc there are tv and computers with 2k and up. but still they make phones with better screen than any average tv, where you actually see what is happening. even google glass could show 1080p, and look at that screen size.
Zenodroid, 22 Jan 2016im talking about power usage of the battery. not pixels or anything else. the bigger screen, t... moreno, actually more pixels = more battery it will take to be honest. Sure 1080p should be a standard and it is even outdated these days compared to QHD. But if processor can't handle more than this so why make better resolution? I would really be happy using 1080p screen instead of QHD. Just as in example nexus 6p has QHD. If It came in 1080p screen and let every other spec be the same then... it would clearly not lose performance in 5 years or even more. And that massive battery would last 10 hours SOT.
Android Hero, 21 Jan 2016PPI will be still the same on same resolution even if 5 or 4.5 inch. Might have just only few ... moreim talking about power usage of the battery. not pixels or anything else. the bigger screen, the more need for power. but ok, asus really went bad on that choice. assuming their costumers are blind f*ckers.
The Zenfone 3 (Main) will use Intel Atom Z4XXX SoC
*Next Gen CPU (Cherryview Core)
*Next Gen GPU (PowerVR GT7XXX,2X more powerful than Zenfone 2 GPU [PowerVR G6XXX]
*Same Modem (SIM 2 just can use 2G only)
*The core number is not known
*The RAM number is not known
i think its a Zenfone 3 Laser model (because use snapdragon 615 with better performance)
Anonymous, 22 Jan 2016From what I've seen the Snapdragon 650 beats the Z3580 by quite a bit.Its SD615
Asus should stick with Intel processer than this snapdragon 600series crap
am pretty sure thats not zenfone 3..thats zenfone 5 2nd generation or something...give the 615 crap a rest already
we dont need fancy names, but another decent 5.5 or 6.0 inch FHD screen, 6GB RAM, 64GB memory, 4000mAh battery and put it in a price range of 299-349 USD.
Android Hero, 21 Jan 2016PPI will be still the same on same resolution even if 5 or 4.5 inch. Might have just only few ... morenope..ppi depends on resolution + size..
5.9" with 720 p is only 248.92
5" with 720p is 294[almost 300] is very gud
no intel chip? no fingerprint sensor as promised? Asus, u just wasting my time.
Guys chill , this are just testing units...!
There is no anything official for now...!
And i know Asus will surely do their best job for in making ZenFone 3...!
I m just telling that you guys just simply don't assume anything and say bad about the phone companies , nothing is official yet...!
Just my two cents...!
