this is currently the best phone on the market. nothing matches the wave in specs, quality, efficiency, and technology.

What I want in a phone....
Price is a big driving factor which is why Galaxy 9000 and I-Phone v4 are not on my radar - unless they are releaased with a surprising discount (ain't gonna happen)
Super Amoled - just looks soooo sweet. This promises to be a major draw over other phones - especially from what I have read/seen from previews. If it is as good as I expect, I almost certainly will take the plunge.
Main useage after initial month of playing with apps is calls, texting and emails (for me), so a good and intuitive interface, stability, a decent battery, nice pics (don't have to be best ever - I have a DSLR at home), and at least a few fun apps is all I am after. I am not going for bragging rights to say this is BEST PHONE EVER. Baa OS is unproven, but not necessarily a bad thing.

Samsung history with support is a bit scary. I have heard horror stories. I hope they learn from past. Unfortunately, big companies can take years to change things like this.

I haven't heard of any real problems yet in previews. They may indeed come once released. I hope not.

> In reply to [deleted post]i have been looking at a few phones.

The nokia n8 looks slow and too big, the camera quality improovement isnt that much different than the samsung wave's and the nokia n8 doesnt come with super amoled which i can clearly see is better than standard amoled. Plus the price will be more than a wave.

Symbian 3 looks crap, im sorry but it does, from the video's iv seen the phone is slow. The baba os looks smooth and will be looking forward to get a big enough app store like the iphone to go with it.

Then we get the new iphone 4, dnu what to say, really expensive phone. My bro has the 3gs and while its got cool games i dont think its worth the price.

i cant buy a htc 4g in my country so not even a option.

as for the samsung galaxy s its cool but like i said earlier its bigger in size so the batt life will be less than a wave and i dont think it has autofocus in vieo recording which i really want.

Sony has the x10 but too expensive and get less features plus i dont want a lft lcd screen plus its too big for me.

So samsung wave it is :D.

n5800 is not having good touch screen
even it is not better than an corby
. but it is very user friendly and it's camera is also good
but the quality at which it records videos is very poor
and if you wanna buy a phone i will recommend you sony satio
i like the sony ecricsson i don't think what you people see
in samsung there nothing in that !!
it's just a ----
because it always miss some features and it is not user friendly !!

> In reply to nomorese @ 2010-05-15 07:58 from S3d4 - click to readI agree with you.. My first two phones were samsung.. First I thought they are great. But then I switched to Nokia.. Then I realize what I was missing.. Compare to Nokia, Samsung's phones are rubbish.. I know it will hurt many Samsung fans but it is true.. First look Samsungs looks good but all in all they are not good as Nokia.

I'm gonna be honest. I've always been skeptical to Samsung phones. I've never owned one, but I've seen friends use it and they looked made of cheap plastic, short lifespan (easily broken), and there was always something missing with their phones feature-wise, and UI was more complicated than Nokia's, it was limited and illogical, or it just just felt like that.
Compare to my old N95 the good old Samsung just couldn't cut it, if it had GPS it had no proper maps nor proper navigation, if it had wifi it was hard to configure, if it had multitasking it had no real programs to show for (even though they used S60 in some of their smartphones), bluetooth was a total mess to locate and actually use, a proper camera on one phone per year. It feels like they discourage people from using their phone other than texting and making calls. They dominate parts of Asia and are number two on the market but I just don't know what people see in Samsung.
Is there a Samsung fan that could explain his love for the brand??

> In reply to Parachute. @ 2010-05-15 00:37 from 9Aqe - click to readHmm, Parachute i never thought in my life that i may have evil mind to discriminate someone, not even a litle mouse, and talking about a giant company discrimination, i have newer imaginated a damn that idea lol.
It seem it's your aggression, i most have hurt your feelings!

The nokia touchscreens have HD to, but is called nHD and is crisp sharp video pictures on nokia, watching movies on nHD is like, you made think you are watching 40 inch digital TV in stereo sound quality and loud!!! Maybe you didn't want to know about it, because you seem to be a guy who run for size...!
During day time recording video on nokia is very clear and no way lags or skipping a single frame on nokia, and that in wide nHD video!
We saw few video records of this badda, they were horrible skipping lot of frames, i guess that 1GHz cpu can not cope with HD videos, i guess samsung this time just want to have big number that's all folks..., maybe after a year may come update for it, but you know how samsung does it...!
You have to wait and scratch your head a year till there will be some honest software for it, maybe til then may be released a maemo devices, then all developers will rush for it and who will want to hear about badas and droids anymore!
Amoled or super amoled, even if it is hyper amoled, it does not mean much to me, it's new tech for lower battery consumption and deeper colors, i don't care about that, i don't use glasses to be able to see it, and if it's that your problem, than run for your self, maybe you'll satisfy yourself with newest tech, or check again some chines tech like iphone aahhahahahahaaaa...lol.

> In reply to iphone @ 2010-05-15 01:48 from fu$1 - click to readi have 3GS and Omnia HD and for me... Omnia is much better phone...
WHY?
Because is full multimedia support phone... and with HX firmwares and many nokia appz, Omnia HD have full support for software and firmware...
iPhone have poor display, poor camera, no java, no flash, no flash for camera, poor video rec, and many more "poors"...
Only ONE point 3GS have than Omnia HD, better graphic chip (28 mil triangles, omnia have 14).
Are you sure we are all children and that we need a phone to play games???
F**k the games!
I need phone for all multimedia...

New Wave S8500 have WORLD BEST graphic chip (89 mil triangles), and?... Nothing for me special...
I have Radeon 5970 card on my computer and use only for GL support with Maya, Max and After Effects... not for games...
For me, Wave have 2 point special, SUPER AMOLED and BADA!
Why Bada?
It's OPEN SOURCE OS!
Samsung will no longer depend on other operating systems, now has his own to develop and finally by his own will to make changes for the purposes hardvare. Just like 4 years ago did Apple. (And so it is supposed to develop support for the OS)

> In reply to [deleted post]FYI I Can multitask in my iphone 3gs which is better than your ancient nokia e series devices. I can play audio while sending sms ! That means i am doing two tasks au the same which means i'm multitasking you iphone hater . And when i close some apps like notes when i press the menu button i can go back right where i left off. Iphone has multitasking and the upcoming iphone will have an enhanced task switcher.

You realy think that the nokia 5800 has better video that a Fone that has HD video recording? And
You think that the touch screen is for beginers? So i suppose your first touchscreen fone (if you have ever had one) had super AMOLED? I dont think so and if your going to write please write using the right things needed. You realy need a life if you think that you can discriminate products that you havent had or made. Why imply its crap when you havent used it?
Basicaly, you chat a load of bull****.

Maybe i em going to make angry some guys in here, it's because liking and non liking shinny phones and MHz's..!
I em very sure the plastic device n5800xm the one was attacked so much from haters, with few modification is already going on that device.., will beat this device in multimedia internet surfing, video recording and usability, the only thing may not, is it's camera when in picture mode because of it's sensor, maybe this have bigger pic-sensor, but the rest this device is useless for pros, but maybe is good for touchscreen beginners!!!

Those reasons are nearing personal preference and the like. but one of those, the continuous autofocus video recording, is a factor. does the galaxy S even have this ability or not? coz that was a major pull for me towards these two mobs. gonna probably end up waiting til the release of the galaxy. Android provdes free navigation too AFAIK

Also as some1 else has said here it will be cheaper then the galaxy still. But trust me after u get over the features of most phone the thing that will give the biggest wow factor is the looks

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-05-14 17:10 from mxSD - click to readThe reason im buying a wave instead of a galaxy s is....

*its smaller and thinner width in size.
*The phone cost way less than a samsung galaxy s. (MAJOR REASON)
*i want LED flash with that nice 5 mp camera.
*For me the bada os runs as smooth as the iphone os in speed.
*its got a anti smudge coating aswell which will be nice if it works :P.
i know the battery life of the wave is good and the galaxy s has a bigger screen so i can only imagine its gona have crappier batt life than the wave.
*btw does the galaxy s have autofocus in video recording? Cause i know the wave does.

a lot of ppl keeps on dispraising onto the BADA OS, why? Due to the OS is not developed by Google! moron thinking! This is totally a new revolution, ok! Stop judging the bad side! before the final review is released!
