so you're telling mr you paid less than 270 CAD for an N900?
Even at 65, it's 630, I doubt you can buy a new N900 for 630 CAD
it's widely known Canada is in the third world when it comes to the mobile phone industry.
The UK is the only place inthe world where you can get an iPhone for free on an 18 month contract. That's not even taking into account the fact that you can lower your tariff after 9 months to £40 or £30

> In reply to Deep space bar @ 2010-05-20 17:22 from kDic - click to readThat's because you live in Canada, here in the uk, you can be on an 18 month contract, pay £50 a month for unlimited calls, texts and data and have any phone free, even your crappy n900. So in reality you're wasting money.

I paid full for my n900 with no contract i pay 80 buck and soon 65 or unlimited everything
You can't get that with anyone else
All the people i know cancel their data on their iphone plans cause it's to expensive and i just laugh at them when they find out how much i'm paying
Plus have a micro computer with touchscreen is awesome
Plus all those apps you see on the iphone can be written in Qt and crossplatformed
So symbian3 can get the same and i know someone will raise the cpu speed to 700 or 750

> In reply to Deep space bar @ 2010-05-20 08:23 from kDic - click to readLol Linux is light enough to run on a 50mhz CPU, that's not the point.
If it were, iPhone OS beats symbian hands down, as it can have smooth transitions, scrolling, load full web pages,
h.264, syncing, OpenGL games etc at 400mhz. Multitasking slows it down a bit, but it's fine on the 3gs (600mhz), and it's very stable.
the n97 is slow as molasses on 400 and whatever MHz, it's jittery, and it basically unusable apart from calling and texting. And there's no hope in he'll it'll run OpenGL games.
I work in a phone shop. People who want a no frills phone go for an n97 mini or an x6, people who want the best go for an iPhone, people who can't afford one or don't like apple go for an android htc, people who want bbm get a blackberry, people who want something extremely simple go for a 6700. And that's just contract customers, pay as you go is for losers.

> In reply to Deep space bar @ 2010-05-19 16:09 from kDic - click to readactually the higherthe processor speed the faster the phone will run...i put a movie clip at 1080p on my omnia hd and it ran perfectly on its 600 mhz processor but on my htc tilt 2 it would lag because the processor is only 528mhz...also watching hulu and ilemi.com works better with a higher processor speed. why would a lower processor be beneficial at all?
