Certain phone are unable to upgrade to newer versions. Its pointless to remove whatsapp from the listed phone versions especially when it has gained more users in recent years. Please give a clear explanation as to why its being removed...........need more clarity
sr777, 27 Feb 2016It is sad apps are still platform dependent. When will truly universal apps will come. mmmmmmm..... Never!

That's security. Vulnerabilities found every year or so isn't security.
Solun1, 02 Mar 2016Yeah, tha´s why KNOX is being recognized by government and securit experts worlwide and ... moreSo you searched for ra dom quotes online that matched Heartbleed being safe and hen posted the quote here. That is the only conclusion that I have come to when posting tha Centrify quote, as I copy pasted the quote I to Google and came to the Centrify page, which is an external Server provider, which is not part of Android or iOS.
Heartbleed affects the secure connection aka the lock symbol that shows when you browse to a secure website such as your bank or entering your bank details into a webpage.
Therefore any Web browser you used while affected by Heartbleed vulnerability would've been able to have data hijacked.
Centrify wasn't affected because they provide a server which you can purchase, but they are a separate product which doesn't come included in Android/iOS, but your Web browser and any Web browsers you used (which are definitely part of Android/iOS) while being affected by this vulnerability could have data hijacked.
The difference between this specific security situation is that even old devices such as the BlackBerry Curve 8950 were not affected by Heartbleed at all, such is the strength of the internal security of the BlackBerry operating system.
Android/iOS and Windows Phone had to be updated to fix this security vulnerability.
True security is about prevention better than cure. True security isn't about waiting for something to be found and then fixing it and hoping that no data was compromised and then spending time changing all passwords etc.
For some companies that is valuable downtime and progress that they want to avoid at all costs, a similar but less financially risky situation as somebody who instils a new ROM on their phone and finds out that it has bugs and has to reinstall a stable ROM and all of their contacts and install of their apps again, which is a major inconvenience to somebody even if don't work.
Litigation can suggest a company which has chosen to let employees put sensitive data on a mobile platform such as Android/iOS which has a confirmable history of vulnerabilities which have occurred over the years at a concerning frequency, haven't taken the necessary precautions to safeguard the data that has been entrusted with.
Explaining why the medical sector is dominated by BlackBerry due to the sensitive nature of the information that is held there.
BlackBerry PRIV isn't a BlackBerry...

About heart-bleed, a simpe google search wil find sources including this one, I cite:
"The Centrify security team has conducted comprehensive security review and we have determined that all Centrify Products (Centrify Server Suite, Centrify User Suite and Centrify Express) are not vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug. All other vendors such as Accellion, Airtight Networks, IpSwitch, Samsung KNOX, ObserveIT and others aren’t really affected by this world wide vulnerability."
I don´t think KNOX would survive a second if it was worse than Blackberry and Blackberry´s reputation wouldn´t survive a secod if it was worse than KNOX.
Solun1, 29 Feb 2016Or you could just do a Samsung phone that has dual capabilities for work and play - work secur... moreThe relatively recent Stagefright infection on Android could get higher privileges and just disable Knox or use elevated privileges to pose as a trusted object and just browse your files anyway. The Heart Bleed vulnerability on iOS & Android was researched and BlackBerry phones as far back as the Curve 9850 were invulnerable to this Heart Bleed vulnerability without doing any security updates.
The presence alone of these reoccurring infections and leaks in iOS & Android would probably guarantee you or the company you work for had to pay out a large sum of money if litigation decided you chose to use Android/iOS knowing thes infections were recent and still chose to host sensitive financial information on those devices leading to you or your company you work for having a heavy financial loss from this action.
This is why my friend got given a Blackberry as his company phone as his company does in fact deal with a lot of heavy financial transactions, and why the medical sector is dominated by Blackberry, and why ultra high security environments may only have one chose of phone to use, due to the type of chip-level identity inside BlackBerry phones.
Social Media will stay on my Android, and sensitive data will be on the Blackberry..........and BlackBerry PRIV is not a Blackberry...........
r, 28 Feb 2016Nope. People don't use it. That't why Zurckerberg is a billionaire . lolYeah suckerberg

That's okay I removed all kinds of social media crap and put them on my Android a long time ago. High security platform for important data (BlackBerry), low security for unimportant data & social media (Android/iOS/Windows Phone)
Well that hurts, thank goodness I have departed from those platforms long ago. I am using an Android M platform on SG6 Edge for long life, but I feel how this gonna affect millions in a bad way because older platforms were useful because they can load WhatsApp.
Nokia S40 & S60 are now sinking even deeper after Nokia made stupid attempt cutting development, WhatsApp should then leave the current versions with servers working for them forever than to disable the whole system leaving poor people wasted $50 - $350 on Nokia phones. Blackberry 10, Windows or older Androids should be too handled dearly by those reasons given above.
It is true that being loyal will obliterate your loyality WhatsApp seems to forget or else ignoring that they have gained World population by those oldies they now disguise. Visuals are made to consume pure hearted men to make evil hearted rich?
People from all parts, do not be loyal to all technolorgical strategies. But just live your life that is highly worth than visual tech. WhatsApp is not the first to embarrass you but also oldy companies making a stall on development.
Do you really can't live without whatsapp? oh my dear...
This is the first move and also first effect by "free for a lifetime" since WA merged to FB.
Let's see what next....
If WA&FB says "you have no rights to complain in using our free app", what will you say?
Are you sure that another chat messenger apps like viber, telegram, etc., won't do the same or even worse thing like this in the future?
one thing from me, just don't be to loyal to any apps, use it wisely, you'll never know when they will break you or us as a user..
Will it be possible to use watsapp on bb10, since android and iOS apps can be supported on bb10 and therefore watsapp from Android or iOS can be dwnldd n used on bb10 is.
Sounds great, but why remove the support for BB?
a.k14, 28 Feb 2016i ve been using telegram lately since i found out my messages were retarded on wa and viber.it... moreif its on the internet, it must be true
Well, i don´t see anny problem, ´cuz, there is a program that do exactly the same thing that wpp, telegram, and yes there is a version to blackbarry, so even wpp go way, bb won´t be in the dark.
i ve been using telegram lately since i found out my messages were retarded on wa and viber.it rocksss and i love it
if this news true?
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2016facebook? what is that? does people still use it? lolNope. People don't use it. That't why Zurckerberg is a billionaire . lol
