AnonD-497261, 06 Mar 2016Nope. Samsung dropped Marshmallow's adoptable storage feature from their TouchWiz'ed version ... morePoint taken. Another thing I hate about Android Marshmallow is that the encryption can't be disabled(well, through normal methods anyway). This is what stops data on MicroSD cards from being readable in other devices
AnonD-454049, 06 Mar 2016Google Adoptable StorageNope. Samsung dropped Marshmallow's adoptable storage feature from their TouchWiz'ed version of v6.0 with the S7 & S7 Edge.
I'm neither a fan or a hater of Samsung/TouchWiz, as I don't currently use a Samsung device (I have in the past), but bringing back microSD functionality to their flagship and then pulling adoptable storage from the OS seems like a big "FU*K YOU" to their customers. Their reasoning for dropping the feature:
"Samsung decided not to use the Android Marshmallow 'adoptable storage' model. We believe that our users want a microSD card to transfer files between their phone and other devices (laptop, tablet, etc), especially the photos and videos they shoot with the camera."
"With adoptable storage, first of all the card may be erased the first time it is inserted into the device. This behavior may be unexpected by many users and we donÂ’t want our users to lose their files. Second, once Marshmallow starts using a card for adoptable storage, it cannot be read by other devices, so it loses this ability to be used for file transfer."
"Adoptable Storage is also primarily targeted towards emerging markets where devices with only 4-8GB of onboard storage are common. We think that our model of using microSD for mass storage is more in-line with our ownerÂ’s desires and expectations for how microSD should behave."
First of all, this is a HIGHLY MISLEADING statement. When you first insert a microSD card into a device running 6.0+, it prompts you to chose between "portable storage" or "internal storage", with a detailed description of what each option can and cannot do. This idea that your card is going to be unintentionally erased along with your data is complete horse sh!t. Another great example of Samsung and other OEM's exercising control over customers and abusing their loyalty. Instead of giving users a choice, they decided to play dictator.
Samsung ain't the only OEM who dropped the adoptable storage feature from Marshmallow . . LG pulled the same crap with the G5, so this criticism ain't exclusive to Samsung.

AnonD-428658, 03 Mar 2016I have a GM-900 bought on samsung store, screen broke after a half foot drop on a wooden floor... moreIt is not about the phone is about the person. I had all Galaxy s phones to date and never had a broken screen. I dropped my S6edge on rough stone floor from shoulder height and it didn't brake - there is little pressure mark on the metal -nothing else. Funny thing it actually cracked tiny piece of the stone tile - not joking! I had s5 for 2 year - dropped it 100s times and screen never broke, the chrome finished plastic around screen looked terrible, but screen was ok. Finally, got it stolen and get insurance replacement, gave it to my mother and a month later she dropped it on carpet and the glass (net the screen) broke right through the middle. Her S3 and previous phones as well had cracked screens.. Again that is about the person not about the phone built quality - Samsung Gorilla gals is in particular though and hard to brake.
AnonD-77892, 03 Mar 2016well... S5 is crap! no doubt about it... I don't have S5 but you seems too much irresponsible ... moreIt also depends where do you live, here almost all galaxy phones comes without Gorilla Glass in order to make cheaper product, if you get a chance to compare regional differences in build quality are obvious, samsung doesn't care for customers outside US, EU and Korea

I have s6 edge + and now I have latest android with the latest touch wiz. And I'm amazed by latest touch wiz. It's very fast and responsive, also very useful and beautiful. For me Samsung rules now in mobile world, they created a superior phones in past one year
