Android is based Linux, so to a very large extent a world wide project and not one that can be strictly attributed to Americans. Linux was first the product of a a Finnish man, but of course Linux is derived from Unix, which is American in origin (Bell Labs), back in 1969.

14MP is a standard in Japan, they have a minimum of 12MP in their phones. Why can't we get it?

the 14MP sensor they've used probably has less noise than any 5MP module on the market, since 5MP use old tech, producers dont make new modern 5MP sensors.

Besides they have put a lot of effort on image quality on this phone.
So there should be no problem with Image Quality. Seems youre just here to complain.

Better zoom? How? that would make the phone thicker.

So how you stand up? Bring the higher numbers and this is exactly what is happening here, again if they deliver good quality snaps then its going to be a wow product for photographers.

there is a 140mp camera used for photographing large portions of space which has just been setup in Holland. why didn't they put that on this phone?

Nice price with that featureset when compared other recent highend phones. I have been waiting something like this since Nokia's N93... (wonder why Nokia didn't make other phone with optical zoom). Interesting to see what kind of battery life is promised.
