[deleted post]Oh is that so? Then why didn't Nokia introduce OVI store way back before when they had a chance?? Oh wait, they got their inspiration from APPLE! They didn't even believe on touchphones anymore but when iPhone's success came, BAM! they made their 'symbian' OS for touchphones.
And when I talked about touchphones I talked about the HYPE they made not being the first. After Nokia made their touchphone they discontinued it and didn't believe ob it anymore!
[deleted post]Yes all those things really existed before apple in the form of symbian UIQ made by motorola and sony: http://www.gsmarena.com/result...p;sFreeText=
Well done apple for letting the dumbest of us hear about the touch screen
Apps are the reason why symbian outsold every other brand by a factor of FOUR last year, and this is why they're going to do it again: http://goo.gl/UNBy
And really besides some 3D games probably everything you so proudly use is ported from symbian. You don't even have the full version of opera or firefox for example.
Opera miny is what is called java crap on symbian.
This really only shows your ignorance.
[deleted post]What Massive success?? Releasing 1 phone per year, 1.7 million is not a big deal.
What you find important in a phone is touchscreen, multi-touch, gaming and User Interface??
All those things are just eye candy, not really important are they. What about important features like DIVX support, Drag and Drop media support, Multitasking, Openness of UI, Java app support and etc...
About the app store... Apple was not the first to invent one, they there the first mobile company to monopolies and control its apps sales using a single store..
Before appstore came along, OS's like symbian had, and still do have, hundreds of app stores all over the web with 1000s of apps. It is even better cause these phones support even JAVA and FLash based apps.
Seen phones like the N73?? They had all those important features way before Iphone..

Symbian^3 will be out soon and Android already has better apps than your iPhone. Its funny you say Symbian is so bad though, I had (and still have) TomTom 6 running on my old N82 (nearly 3 years old now). Tell me, what 3rd party SatNav apps can you get on your lovely, up to date iPhone 4?

No one's even interested in developing for it anymore.. Sorry kiddo, but developers said they want to develop for iPhone and Android. Symbian is dead long out of the picture.
[deleted post]Now now don't cry. Yes Apple have made a success - profit. I am very happy for them. Apple have done very well with their touch screen and user interface. We are not contesting that. However, does that make the iPhone as good as all you fanboys say? No. As for the Appstore, LOL. That's just Apples way of making more money off their loyal customers. Good apps were available on Symbian long before the iPhone arrived, only difference was you could download them off the net... FOR FREE!
[deleted post]Last time you checked indeed. :))) iPhone brought ABSOLUTELY nothing new and no innovation to the market. It's simply a ripoff from the other phone brands.
And the fact that you are an ignorant mac user that only reads mac news only makes the iPhone a first for you ;)
But indeed apple has even managed to surpass themselves in making the worst phone ever:
-worse signal than 3GS that cuts up
-(VERY)cheap glass that scratches – miserable lies in advertising
-cheap screen with light leakage and dead pixels – more lies
-inverted buttons – no quality control
-sim slot defects – bad soldering of components
-faulty cameras, microphones, proximity sensors – cheap parts
I understand there's hundreds of thousands of devices an ebay and they just don't sell, but hey, use it as a gameboy and play tetris.
Run along now =))))))

I think Apple's next step will be to sell a sticky tab for the back of the iPhone. Then when you need to make a call, you simply stick it to the nearest surface and hold your head to the phone - a simple solution to the reception problems that involves the customer spending more money. The Apple way :D
Just read the Big techradar extensive review there and saw that yes the htc desire did infact come nymber one in the current top 20 available phones available with iphone 4 coming in second. Sweet, and to think thats all without the desire about to get its major android 2.2 update, impressive! Top ranking, almost half the iphone 4 price and about to get a major enhancement in firmware, well done htc and andoird

It's the new (R) apple low phone bill technology.
I know you might think that, hey! use the headset... nope since the signal drops even with the bumper on it surely drops in your pocket as well ;)

Then there's tens of thousands of books because apple didn't allow bookreader apps and tens of thousands of tetris and bejeweld.
All the relevant apps like shazam and foursquare and a few dozen others are ported from either symbian or android.
Only a fool could believe there's anything "magical" to the appstore.

Its amazing how apple have released a flagship product with such stupid faults. Absolutely terrible, along with the shoddy customer service: 'you're holding it wrong'. It just shows what a cult iphone really is. People don't buy it because of what they get, they just want one. For all you iphone fans abusing Nokia, Samsung etc. on here you should be ashamed. Think of the thousands of phones they've released, and never with such stupid problems.
Maybe my opinion is biased though, I'm left handed so I wouldn't be able to talk to anyone on the iphone 4 ;)

The iPhone app store selection is no better than android or symbian. It's in fact worse. There's for example 36.000 books while apple barely now has discovered the book reader app.
Every single internet radio station is an app.
Every major internet site has an app (engadget, ny times) because you really couldn't view a page like ny times on the resolution 3GS had without scrolling and zooming for every sentence.
So really spare me with your apps among which you can't even find a video player.
1.7 million bank accounts sucked dry for upgrades by steve jobs,1.7 million people now under his control,1.7 millions now not able to maintain phone call reception,1.7 million about to pay steve more homage for a bumber case,1 million people prob about to fork out for another iphone 4 when this brittle chap breaks easily,1.7 million people about to pay for an iphone case to cover and hide the so called lovely iphone exterior they apid so heavily for inroder to protect it,1.7 millions ppor souls about to pay a prenium insurance price to insurance this phone as insurance companies know the risks

If she needs to do anything technical with it then its me who helps her, so yes i have lots of experience with iphone and my opinion is fair.
If you don't miss any of those features you listed then a smartphone clearly isn't for you so naturally you'll prefer iphone. My point is that in terms of features the iphone is a terrible waste of money. I'm happy to admit the os is good but in my opinion that only justifies the extra cost if you are an incredibly simple person who cannot cope with a litte extra complexity. Maybe that applies to you.
And yes apple are indeed laughing all the way to the bank - at their customers for agreeing to such a rip off.
