This is the absolute worst, it makes me want to put my phone in the oven on broil. If they don't fix this update I think they will lose customers, including me!
I just updated and ....... OH MY GOD! all of the following happened after I was stupid enough to "update" ..... my dog died, I lost my job, my car runs slower and i crashed it on the way to the hospital on my way to visit my brother who is slowly recovering after dying twice after falling off his unicycle and being trampled to death by a three legged horse, Unfortunately he had my winning lottery ticket in his pocket and it blew away in the wind. I really needed the money too to pay for an operation as my left leg fell off and I need to get a new one sewn on. I even did a factory reset but it didn't help, I even wiped the cashe but nothing happened sniff sniff, NONE of this would ever have happened if I hadn't done the stupid Samsung update!!! .... GET A LIFE PEOPLE!!!! (and some proper help with your device)
My issue with Nougat is that the mobile hot spot feature doesn't work any more. This happened on my S7, my wife's, and a friend's. Samsung said wipe the cache, didn't help
Just had my update last night. My phone runs slower, Charges slower, die faster, freezes, All my apps crash when I use them, etc. This isn't my first problem with Samsung.. My note 4 was so bad it took them 6 weeks to fix. Beyond irritated with this company. They offered to factory reset at the Samsung store in Prague but that never fixes anything. I'm stuck with a defective phone for 2 weeks till I make it back to the states. Good to know it's not just me having problems.
my samsung s7 edge automatically made a system software update last june 20 or june 19 im not sure. and after the update. i got a problem with the wifi connection. i click the forget button of the wifi account settings and re connect the wifi connection and putting the wifi password again. but the problem is still there. the internet connection is always timed out every time. i already made a factory reset on my phone but nothing happens. it is still there. a
small wifi connection icon with a comma in the bottom right side.
I ended up taking my phone to a Best Buy that has a Samsung Experience kiosk and they were able to re-flash the update to the phone. May work to fix the messaging issues.

As long as the software update is showing in your phones own software update settings section it'll be ok to update.
Usually on going through the process a pop-up type box it tells you what's involved.
Be sure to create a back up first.
If a phone glitches after an update I'd suggest to first power down the phone and go through the process to clear the system caches.
And if you need to then create a back up and factory reset.

If you bought it recently and it's under warranty I would take it back and ask for a replacement (not what you want to hear I'm sure but it may be the quickest way to get your problem sorted) Did you try a full factory reset?? again probably not what you want to hear but a reset can be a remedy to a lot of android problems. Who is your carrier if you don't mind me asking?

Has anyone f... moreThis happened to me after latest update on my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (unlocked/Straight Talk). Test messaging WILL. NOT. WORK. I have done both soft and hard resets (during which I lost all of my text messages since 2014), uninstalled and re-installed text msg apps, and messages fail to send and receive. Need this to function - my boss likes to text! Any info appreciated.

You can research these updates before installing them (that's what I do) In fact Vodafone uk has a dedicated software weekly wrap which gives you information on: New software versions... software update type (stability/security patch/bug fixes)... status (Testing schedule, when the update is being rolled out to a particular device and MOST importantly whether any issues were found during testing) and also the technical details such as Baseband version, Kernel version and Build number. It pays to research but a lot of people don't do that.

Cornie, 14 Jun 2017Ilsonlad, this is typical of people who don't think before they write and post such comments. ... moreCornie, don't be so silly. I'ts common sense not to risk it and download something if you're already happy with what you have. And if you are not happy with the software version you have and hope a new one will be better, then it's up to you whether or not you want to chance/risk it (after all the nightmare stories you are reading) and as i said in a previous post "As long as the software update is showing in your phones own software update settings section it should be OK to update"
