Nokia N8 goes on pre-order, arrives by the end of September - read the full textThe first Symbian^3-powered device, Nokia N8, was first said to start selling in August but it seems that the phone has actually been pushed back a month. But the good news is if you happen to live in Italy and want to be among the first owners of the smartphone, you can pre-order it right...

Really disapointed that Nokia has delayed the launch of the N8. The main problem is this handset compared to the Omnia HD will be almost 18 months behind that handset.

No, why you want nokia to be yet another android manufacturer? Symbian and meego are the right way to go. Nokia has put much effort, billion, and time into these two os, sorry android!

Cant smasung and motorola, and htc make a decent phone for androidfan?

If Nokia wants to regain its control of the smartphone market, they should produce high-end yet reasonably priced phones, otherwise the buyers may think: why do I have to pay more for getting a sluggish phone? Even if the price for the Nokia N8 and the iPhone / Android phones are the same, people may think why not buy iPhone / Android phones as they are way faster than the Nokia phones.

Apart from that, Nokia should co-operate with Symbian Foundation to revamp Symbian platform (Symbian^1, Symbian^3) at once. Not just about the UI, but the optimisation for the speed (snappy even on a low-spec'd phone).

What's more, Nokia should be more generous with the CPU and the RAM. Just take a look at the Symbian^1 devices, N97, N97 mini, 5800 XpressMusic, 5530 XpressMusic, 5230, C6-00, X6... all have the same 434 MHz ARM 11 CPU, and all have the same 128 MB SDRAM. They are more or less having the same bodies but different clothes, which shows us no sign of sincerity.

> In reply to Kostas @ 2010-07-29 10:39 from m{Jm - click to readI agree but its simple. If Nokia want to win back there place they need to start making Andriod phones like Samsung. Symbian just aint good anymore.

The same story with Nokia E72, we wait 5-6 months for a phone.Come on Nokia you are suposed to be the number 1 mobile manufacturer and you can't publice a smartphone. When it will be published it will be outdated, other companies already 1ghz cpu and by the end of september they will use 1.5 or maybe 2 ghz.WAKE UP NOKIA!!!!
