One of the main reasons I bought an LG is because all the other TVs are doing ads in LG doesn't
Akinaro, 31 May 2016Sooo.... You would buy TV for 800-2000Euro you pay about 20-50Euro monthly for TV/Video subscr... moreWell what do you know that natural disaster is here
Great post, as the article is very informative and well said. Thanks for sharing the post. Samsung tv in Ghana
Out of interest, the report said this had already been done in the States. Anyone know what the public perception was among Americans?
Has this lead to reduced sales or are the ads no 'biggie'?
Strange move from samsung this but after thinking about it, preferable to them hiking up the price of their TV's. I hardly pat attention to the ad's anyway. However, if Sammy are doing this, you can bet your bottom dollar all others will follow suit...Sony, LG, JVC etc.
Where Samsung go, the rest follow.
1. What's the point of buying "smart" TV?
If someone wants to buy a new TV, there are a few important features that the TV must have:
-automatic volume control
-USB port to connect pendrives (and play movies from it)
-TV broadcast recording to USB storage
-MHL or HDMI port to connect smartphones
These are the features that TVs must have. There is no need for smart TVs. (People call a TV as "smart" just because it runs an operatin system and connects to the internet? Makes no sense and it's pointless. The reason why manufacturers want to splread "smart" TVs is to spy on people and show ads.)
2. Disable all automatic updates!
It's true for all devices, softwares and platforms. For example Microsoft wants to shove down Windows 10 on people's throat with forced auto updates, because Windows 10 was built for spying and data mining on it's users. They can do this only to incompetent people, because smart people always disable auto updates. And install the updates manually at will. But there is no need of updates at all. Disabling updates won't hurt anyone.
Another reason not to buy Samsung product.
the_seba, 31 May 2016Well... that's not necessarily true. Most TV sets with excellent specifications are far cheape... moreSo?
it just ads why not skip it
Now I know that apple's lawsuit was right.
I'm so i happy i bought the Philips that was on Sale vs the Samsung TV i was considering...
Wait a moment. Showing ads on MY home TV?
i don't remember samsung approaching me, and inquiring about renting my TV`s screen estate for advertising purposes.
If i have paid for the TV in full, this is my property. And filling it with ads, should not be tolerated.
Thanks god I bought LG. I hope LG doesn't follow.
Samsung/Android
Not even once.
Sooo.... You would buy TV for 800-2000Euro you pay about 20-50Euro monthly for TV/Video subscription that contain some ads... and Now TV it self would ALSO show ads...
Amazing... For past 3 years I see so much ldiotic ideas that people buy anyway that I hope there will be WW3 or some natural disaster that would wipe half of people on earth because every year we have more and more stvpidity that spread like somesort of disease
Easy to circumvent by blocking all traffic to the MAC address of the TV on the router.
Feck you Shamsung!
Ha ha!
