I did switch from evernote to Simplenote a long time ago as well, it has a good interface and it's quite better than keepnote, the best note app was Catch, until they had been bought to be dismantle i believe.

They start to bitch about things when they increase pri... moreI hear what you're saying and agree, Evernote seems to be doing this out of survival because the service is their only source of revenue.
That said, the Google's and Microsoft's of the world have their own note-taking apps which are almost as good (if not better) than Evernote. And they're free. So yes, I do feel for developers who work so hard and don't see the revenue they need to make it. However, like most people in the world I'm poor too. So my poor self has no choice but to go with the Google or Microsoft option because that's the most I can afford.
Goodbye Evernote, you were my favorite note taking app and I wish I could've used your service forever. Best wishes to you.
Nobody is using you anymore. Tons of great apps out there and that too with various features and free!!
there is ton of free replacement apps out there, some of them offer much more.....
limit the app (for free users) to 2 devices when there is already limitation on free account is a big mistake.
OneNote > all
I didn't even know this app still existed since OneNote was introduced.
No idea why anyone would use this app to begin with. Got free premium for a year with my Note 4, never used it since the S note does everything Evernote does, and even more, for free. There's also Keep and OneNote, both good enough and both free.

They start to bitch about things when they increase pri... moreWhen there is competition that can do better than them, they will have problems in the future.
As an Evernote basic user, their hypocrisy is what irritates me. "No ads."? If you are a free user they will bombard you with "Upgrade now" popups which is worse than actual ads since it generates no revenue for them and its there only to annoy you. Now, on top that, they are limiting the devices you can use to 2. This is the last straw for me with this "annoy them till you get them" strategy.
It's time to say goodbye, see you at the lobby.
This is why I hate android fanboys.
They start to bitch about things when they increase price in app.
It's clearly stated in the article that they need to increase the price of their apps to survive.
Android fanboys logic is everything should be free without thinking about the business who has employees that they have to pay and that are working for this businesses in order to earn money or without thinking about those developers who works hard to make apps only to earn ends meat.
Android fanboys like speak about other companies that should go out of business, blackberry to go out of business and to windows phone die some to go bankrupt without thinking about the employees of this companies who will lose their jobs just so as their beloved android stays dominant.
Sorry for the rant and my bad English I just kinda feel sad About those developers working hard and not making enough money.
I still wondering how it possible that companies don't learn... When you look back few years at companies(not only tech) you would see that every company that had problem and bump their prices up... Are gone now or really slowly disappear and all their "brand" now is known only as failure.
Bumping prices never work, you need long term strategy and you can't depend only on your brand name.
Also its like never ending question: its better to sell more for less, or sell less for more...
And looking at current market I can say that there are too many alternative and competition to play with "less for more"
When it comes to note taking, Evernote is undisputed king. Its is most versatile note taking application. Google keep is just a very basic note app and does not come even closer to Evernote. The other Note app comparable to Evernote is One Note, however it has few limitations. I think that is what ever note is encasing. Asking premium for being better.
- Evernote premium user/ One Note paid user / Google keep user
switched to google keep long time ago not going back
Google keep is the best alternative
Nothing excellent comes free. I've been an evernote user for a really long time and paid subscription is fine with me.
I am a very basic user and lots of idea I put note in OneNote. But for rest of the notes I use Evernote. It fine by me to use it with only 2 devices. But is their any free alternative. As of now, I don't use evernote every day or very intensively. But still it could be nice to know a free alternative with good features.

Bye bye Evernote
