Well the first day I saw it I had this failiure by samsung in my mind and here they are failed.
Actually people dont realize that Apple Ipad is successful with its App store and time an effort Apple had put into it so that people can have there apps and run on a huge screen, I am not an Apple fan boy coz i use HTC phone and for me it dosent even matter as all these high end phones and gadgets lay like stones at my work but its true that Apple put there effort so that the people have a useful full fledged tablet.
Now I think Samsung got over ambitious and didnt even think about that u need a platform and software first in order to make use of ur hardware, now i can say samsung did a poor job and I am sure people who will buy this tablet will not be happy coz Android itself is buggy right now and there is no way samsung can make Android apps run in a high resolution on a big screean, u need separate coding and desighn apps for that and I think Apple is doing a good job in that for ipad .
last but not least apple is rich and spend so much money to develop a better software for eg App store desighned for iphone and ipad.
Now u like it or not this thing will completely fail.

iOS was optimized and built for tablet when apple had their plan for iPad.
all iPhone appa run seamlessly in iPad tats the fact ;)
But Google never had anything in their plan to go for tablet support
in froyo ( but support might come in later versions )..
hope u got the point.

I hope all companies should also be responsible for their electronic garbages that will be accumulated over time and not focusing only in producing but also for taking the responsibility on the process of disposing the garbages that may accumulate overtime. It should be put in their Social Economic Responsibility agendas. I see Nokia doing something for their e-trash like chargers. they put some special place to collect the electronic garbage...hpe the rest of the companies will follow--- BE RESPONSIBLE!

I'm not a samsung fan, i'm an innovative gadget fan, so i would nevr go 4 a mere copier. i think any1 saying that samsung galaxy tab is a copy or a complete knock off of apple's ipad is sounding really stupid! i mean in what way? in it's dsign? d tab is a 7", how can it b a copy of a 9.7"?! 7" is alot more compact than a bulky 9.7, so how is it a copy? is it d gyroscope or d 30pin connector? i believe it's called adopting technology! would u call ipad a copy when they use an lcd screen? or including a video player inside? they sure didn't invent those. what samsung did is they take d best things of d ipad n adding a whole lot more to create something with btter value called the galaxy tab, plus it's gonna b cheaper too. Samsung galaxy tab is an innovative gadget for smart people.

If you did then you would see somebody using an iPad every day or two.
In Central London and the City of London, iPad's are literally EVERYWHERE!!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-09-13 12:44 from PBHM - click to readI guess he had in mind the screen resolution. But how come the Galaxy Tab and Archos 70 and 101 will run it anyway? I would agree maybe for 10 inch tablets with very high resolution, but Apple's iPad is still at 1024x768 resolution (same as Archos 101). If Froyo is not good for tablets, then iOS is not good too.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-09-13 12:44 from PBHM - click to readYeh i just hope samsung haven't rushed it out too soon. Android 3 is just around the corner, if they waited a little longer and optimised the OS for a tab, they could do quite well. Id they release a sloppy tab with an os that doesnt fit it, they could lose customers. The galaxy S product, release, marketing and distribution is as good as it gets for a company. If they can replicate that with the tab effectively, then they will have a hit

Google themselves told that froyo is not optimized for tablets .
Also its not guaranteed that the existing apps will run in tablets

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-09-13 12:38 from syax - click to readAgreed, even if samsung had a monopoly on the phone market, i could guarantee they would show a greated degree of innovatio than apple. Apple simply relies on their marketing and not their product. Samsung rely on their product being better than competitors and therefore keeps innovating.
As long as idiots keep coming to my store, asking for the new iphone they saw on tv, fully signing contracts and then asking "so whats new about the iphone 4", then apple will be in business.
Also when they ask what is actually new aboutthe iphone for when compared with the 3gs, there really isnt much to say.

> In reply to Jon2 @ 2010-09-13 12:22 from vj1b - click to readBe weary of comparing active competition with an attempt to monopolise. You may have noticed that in consumer electronics, sony, teak and sharp have all fropped of the radar. Samsung and LG have been really busy innovating alot of different techs, especially tv screens and such. In moviles you can see that they have developed super amoled which doesn't have a anything that comes close to it atm, also swype. Simple examples, but when you compare it to Apple, there isn't actually a single peice of NEW innovation in the phone. Have a good think. Since the first iphone whats actually changed, whats new about the iphone 4 thats hasnt been done before and better. They only make 1 phone a year, not hunders, dont you think the jump between iphone 3gs to 4 should have actually been a substantial one, not just throwing in a few bits of tech that should have been in the previous phone anyway?

I can tell you what Froyo has (and it is necessary) and iOS does not: Flash 10.1.
