Which company uses the DragonTrail glass by Asahi Glass Co. on it's phone? Anybody know? I think DragonTrail glass is comparable to Gorilla Glass by Corning, if not better...
And shatters when falling from 30 cm from your living room table to your carpet, also making touchscreen unusable.
Anonymous, 21 Jul 2016We've already heard this many times. I'm 100% sure Gorilla Glass 5 will be scratched and crack... moreit's not overpriced , it costs OEM's around $3 per piece . sapphire glass is around $25 for a piece .
I have mixed opinions regarding GG particularly their third iteration, my Nexus 5 screen shattered instantly after it slipped out of my pocket and landed face-down, but my OPO didn't albeit it was dropped from a much shorter height. However, I did drop it several more times over the years from a similar height range and it's still intact.

I got a tiny, sharp object into my phone cover and, yes, it scratched my Gorilla Glass 2, but compared to the plastic used a few years earlier, it's a world of difference. With GG, I've had two scratches across three phones. Before, I could easily get two new scratches per day.
Internal component should be made tougher too, not only the glass.
Another lie from Corning. They say Gorilla Glass 4 is scratch proof but my phone's screen with Gorilla Glass 4 got scratched even i dont place my phone face down and i dont carry my phone in the same pocket with keys, coins etc...
My #Otterbox and #Griffin rugged cases have protected my Samsung Galaxy S5, Apple iPad Air 2, and Note 4 devices from 2 METERS (OR 6.6 FEET). :p
Withstand 1.6m height drops a.k.a. selfie-height? You either very short or you took a very low-angle selfie. I guess its only work when you sit down only.
Apparently phones use these better screens to just reduce the thickness and negate the impact of the better screen half the time. Oh well, at least it means thinner phones or bigger battery.
