Im a Nokia guy(at this time!he hee)but I really loved Sonim design and spect. remembering me the early nokia rugged phones(5140,5100 and 5210).My only wish is to let people at nokia to produce this kind of phone and not just for the megapixel rat race...
It was officially launched last night http://toughestphone.typepad.com/bobs_blog/

The rugged phone market is hotting up. JCB are about to launch a new range www.jcbphone.co.uk
I've never heard about IP68 rating before.
Thumbs-up Sonim! Definitely at the Top of the league for rugged phones.
Any plan for UK and Germany release?
yah dude.. why do you still need to provide a Phone that can go through under water? do they Already have a Cell site established UNDER THE SEA where we can use it? think about it lol
Yeah, I actually have a photo of one of my customers from my old phone store texting underwater on the older model :) I was stunned!
How much the price then ?...
If it's worth it,
Better for me to get it for outdoor and fishing purpose...
BRAIN DEAD, 27 Sep 2010So whats the use of going diving with the phone? This means, we can talk underwater then, righ... moreMaybe not talk, but try SMS - imagine if you are a researcher regarding marine life, and you find something worrying. Instead of noting the coordinates, resurfacing, and getting to a radio - you can send a SMS with the coordinates and message straight to your base station, and continue on. If it does work, the marine professions will benefit greatly.
But will it have 3G 900? This would mean superior coverage compared to 2G on our network in Australia.
This is for outdoor use, hiking, climbing, rafting, rain, snow, battlefield etc, not for desk jockeys. :-) Motorola Defy is almost the same as far as resistence is concerned (and it's an Android with better specs), however the Sonim looks cooler. :-)
