And only smaller amount of developers still maintain that os (compared to tizen).
Tizen is already known by wider audience, both geeks and non-tech users. And also supported by big companies for example Samsung, Intel, Huawei, Fujitsu, NEC, Panasonic, KT Corporation, Sprint Corporation, SK Telecom, Orange, NTT DoCoMo, and Vodafone. And also fully opensource.

your sailfish jolla will die first, because it is only supported by community without any support from big companies.

I think it is wise to stay on the lower market for now, when they gain a considerable userbase they will start offering more. until then they will work on tizen and it's features

I think this is nice, they are trying to gain more users on the platform, with cheap modestly speced phones. plus it is capable of running android apps right?
How if samsung build Z2 with S7 specs and technologi?
This for who just care about peformance for save maybe $300 for useless glass design and useless edge display.
S., 10 Aug 2016It offers the price and potentially giving people a chance at their first smartphone. For the price, there are much better droids available in the market.
Porsher1234, 10 Aug 2016You know what else is joke of the year? Your attitude towards this OS platformYeah whatever. Buy a Tizen powered phone and suffer. You'll know why it sucks.
Specs wise isn't this a downgrade from the z3, pretty much similair to the z1geevee

Consensus? Your two cents mean jack sh*t.
$70 is the cheapest phone they ever offer this year. Impressive.

Man can't wait until this is ready for Samsung's flagship phones.
The version for smartwatches was already miles better than Android Wear out the gate, so the smartphone version seems promising.
The Tizen powered Samsung Z really needs to be released (globally), or at leased a phone with similar specs needs to be seen running Tizen.

Your attitude towards this OS platform
If it was powered by android, I'd say specifications suck, but since samsung is using their own os, they can optimize it really well so the phone works good. OS made specially for a certain device and which can be changed by samsung however they want, should be much better than android for this type of device.
Joke of the year. Tizen OS is a dead on arrival platform. It offers nothing new, it is just light weight and that's all. The concept of the swipe up to bring the app menu in Tizen OS is copied from Sailfish OS. I'm using Jolla C, a sailfish OS 2.0 powered phone and it is a much better OS, completely new experience.
