Anonymous, 16 Aug 2016that's what they get from buying cheap china device with non-reputable brand.Well all brands have serious problems from time to time, but you needed to say something and you did.. think before talking.
The android pay was fixed by google, after the last update it works again with the latest oneplus update. Also youtube 60fps videos were fixed by google recently.
drony, 16 Aug 2016And then another one, and another one, and another one. that's what they get from buying cheap china device with non-reputable brand.

By the way it's your perception.i am using it and loving it.
This is what you get when you buy these chinese phones. More and more updates instead of one stable update. One update fixes one thing then other brings two new issues. Already had bad experience with chinese phones in the past. I can spend max 150$ on these chinese phones. Rather buy last year's flagships for 400$.
These bugs that came in an update always happen even to apple , samsung and every phone that are out there dont worry, now that they know it they will come up with another patch very soon.

cozxta, 15 Aug 2016Oh wow, even in Brazil where things are extremely expensive it was launched costing 1000 euros... moreI've seen some posts about gyroscope sensor not working correctly, but I wasn't really too much concerned about that because I never use auto brightness mode. There is no device that can set the brightness to what I find comfortable to view. Even though the room is quite bright that feature makes the screen too dark. Not sure why, but even in rather light conditions the sensor thinks that the phone is in total darkness. What xiaomi phones lack in my opinion is developers. I remember when I had Lenovo K3 Note. Even though it had a mediatek cpu the support was stellar and now that I look at it it's even better. It had soo many great Roms. I think the reason xiaomi devices lack developers is because xiaomi is making it hard to modify the system with locked bootloaders and stuff like that. When I had lenovo k3 note, all I needed to do was install TWRP, download a rom and just flash it. That's it. With xiaomi phones I had to spend whole day of researching to make sure nothing goes wrong and even then I got stuck in a bootloop. With lenovo k3 note I didn't need a pc for anything, except getting TWRP installed, but with xiaomi phones the pc is required even for just rom flashing. People using xiaomi devices complain about mediatek, but that's not what's wrong in these devices, it's lack of support from both xiaomi with locked bootloaders and actual developers. Sorry that I've gone way out of topic here.
sign... why bother with oneplus whatever.
there're much better phones (both hardware and software) with similar price.

I think he meant the software of the Mi5 is bad because of bugs, there's some complaining going on online forums, but they'll get fixed, I'm sure of that, my Redmi has plenty of AOSP ROMs, I already tested some of them, there's even an stable official one that we think was used for testing purposes as it comes with some Qualcomm testing apps, when it came, it had this bug, I don't know why but the ambient light sensor interfered with the gyroscope, had to turn off auto brightness, but it seems that it was fixed after the last update from 2 weeks ago.
I don't quite like the feel of AOSP, there's some features that I like lacking, in MIUI I just don't like the launcher, but to change that is as simple as downloading a launcher from the Play Store, there's some cool features like displaying network speed on the status bar and the fingerprint sensor on my phone is always-on only in MIUI, AOSP ROMs you have to wake the screen first, that's not cool because the fingerprint sensor isn't embedded on the power button.

New galaxy s7 where I live costs 819.99 euros and I can get OP3 for 399 euros. About bad software on xiaomi mi5. Why do you think it's bad? I've used quite a lot of xiaomi devices for the past year and found miui to be quite good. Before I got my first xiaomi phone I was thinking if there was some AOSP or CyanogenMod rom, but I got used to miui quite quick.

If they keep the same price and improve the battery and sort out their software a bit more, I'll probably get it. But if they do improve and get more established they'll probably increase price. Have to hope the competition keeps them down.

For the same difference between the op3 and the mi5 ($100), you could get the s7, which has a far more extensive improvement, as shown to you already.
6gb ram is also a 'gimmick' since you'd never need that much. Pentile amoled with only 1080p is noticeably worse. On the other hand the s7 is better than the op3 from display and camera, to software and software support, to battery life, and everything in between. Having your preference is fine, but stop acting like the s7 is a rip off compared to the op3. The original prices are high, but they drop at least $100 fairly earlier. On the other hands cheap phones like op3 and mi5 don't drop, and sometimes are even more expensive from third parties.
But the reality is the xiaomi mi5 is poorly built compared to the op3 and it has really bad software, and the op3 is a better deal, of all 3 phones. But then again the mi5 has really good battery life, and is well worth considering too. With the s7 being the choice if you're willing to spend more for the better phone.

The battery inside the OnePlus 3 is a big deal breaker for me, it's endurance is disappoint, the software optimization is not so good, I've seen 5.5' phones with 3000mAh do better...
But anyway, I don't have money at the moment to buy any of these phones, I'm pretty satisfied with my Redmi Note 3 Pro, it's fast, and have excellent battery backup, only the camera isn't that good, but come on it was only $190!

I can get xiaomi mi5 for that price from aliexpress reseller goldway. The seller does something to avoid import fees. I guess xiaomi mi note 2 will blow away all of the other flagships. It should have 5.7" amoled screen, 6GB ram, 128GB storage, improved camera, which might actually use dual camera setup and SD821 cpu for the price of OP3 (well maybe not in all countries ;/).

And where can you get a xiaomi mi5 for $300 exactly? And if you can, why would you get the op3?
