Apple iPhone 3GS gets XGA video recording through a hack - read the full textThe iPhone 3GS is decisively starting to look outdated on the video front with its modest VGA capabilities. Fortunately the hacking community is right here to save it from mediocrity and bring it back on par with the best. Well, the iPhone 3GS isn't at the HD stage just yet but it just hit 1080...

If it is so easy to manufacture a phone as nice as iphone 4, why are there no phones on the market which have same built quality? Nokia N8 use same hardware as iphone 3GS except camera with poorer built quality. Nokia N8 is priced more expensive than 3gs in UK.

I changed the values in the "AVCapture.plist" file in order to get 1280x720 and it works perfectly.
It might be interesting to let everybody know that.

> In reply to [deleted post]The only thing that sells the iPhone is loyalism from fans. Iphone 4 in 2010 has the same specsheet as a 130 dollar unlocked low-end 5MP Nokia phone, except the screen.

No serious smartphone person with half a brain would ever by a Iphone. But iPhone will unfortunately still keep selling really well. That says more about the people in this world than about the iPhone.

The only way for Apple will loose sales on the iPhone is if 90% of the buyers suddenly grew common sense over night. As long as there are Social wannabes, fruitcakes, 14 year old girls, posers and housewives with chihuahuas... there will always be a iPhone on the market.

If Apples iPhone leads the global market share some day, then society has gone stupid enough to be one step away from having monkeys and chimps coming out of the jungle to take over the world.

I don't understand this hipocracy. Why do iPhones users feel the need to jailbreak their phone if the phone is supposed to be so good, Apple is so great and appstore is so this and that. Apple and Steve hates jailbreakers. Jailbreaking the iPhone is doin exactly everything that Apple does not stand for as a company. Still ifans say that Apple is great company with perfect products, but still feel the need to jailbreak their "perfect" product in order to be happy with it.

Now make iPhone 4 record in 1080p if it's able to encode it.
