Anonymous, 18 Sep 2016HTC 10 is the way then (or nexus) Or op3, axon7, V20 btw its pixel not nexus as per current rumors
Hahaha iPhone 7s that scratch easily, IPhone 7s with no sapphire glass and now IPhone 7s that whine, But don't worry I'm sure your just holding or using the iPhone wrongly :-) Not an apple problem just your problem :-)
Product recall I doubt it but when has apple ever admitted it's wrong........
Samsung has probably had the biggest faux paux in history but at least they admitted it and put it right!
That's why I will get a Note 7 :-)
It's not the coil whine...it's the whole phone whining after lost mini jack port ;)
I think that every single phone does that. I use a 4 year old Nexus 4 and if I get my ear close to its back I can hear the whine all the time. Even if the phone isn't doing anything the whine is audible. Maybe some of the iPhones have the coils inside them poorly sealed which will be fixed by replacing / completing all the seals... If most of the phones are NOT affected by this issue I consider that we should make such a fuzz out of it.

AnonD-411799, 18 Sep 2016its designed by apple, manufactured either by samsung or TMC. so dont be amazed now!So what Apple does exactly other than milking 50% margin? Designing chips? Why can't they make themselves and cure the quality issues, if they are capable? Do you think Apple products manufactured by Samsung did not contribute to Apple's overall margins and its brand value? Why can't they try themselves ? As though American companies have the only responsibility of making profits and Chinese sweatshops have the complete ownership of all problems!

It simply shuts down because it detects the water pressure to prevent short circuit.. Once it is dried up you can just switch it on and it'll work as new.. The iphone on the other hand is water logged and short circuit and had to be taken to a service center

AnonD-586725, 19 Sep 2016coil whine comes from the VRM, which regulates power supply to the CPUVRM contains chokes and other stuff. Chokes are the component that might produce the "whine" noise in a VRM.

That is why never buy 1st Gen iPhone 7, wait for the 7s where things are fixed.
It's your nearest Apple Store calling with amazing special offers ;)))

No big deal. It's just a hidden backdoor to exploit any encryption.

[deleted post]They did post many things about the note 7 issue as well as some Nokia issues in the past. Just because they make posts you don't like doesn't make them biased.
Anonymous, 18 Sep 2016A CPU/SoC doesn't have a coil inside it therefore it can't produce coil whine. However, part ... moreSo there can be a whine? Pretty much what the article is saying. No need to overanalyse every word lol
[deleted post]Wow, please do a research on the IP67 vs IP68? Iphone 7 and Iphone 7 plus are both IP67. And the CPU faster? Quad-core 2.23 GHz vs Octa-core 2.3 GHz.....Please get your facts straight. You are the one soliciting for sympathy.
My S6 Edge makes very similar sound often. I always thought that it'll kill my phone some day but it is still alive amd kicking. And it is almost an year old device now. So, it isn't something new amd hopefully something that won't harm your phone.
