Anonymous, 13 Oct 2016Material is the direct cost. There are some other cost such as head office cost, R&D cost,... moreThat's why i specifically said material costs.
Anonymous, 13 Oct 2016Material is the direct cost. There are some other cost such as head office cost, R&D cost,... moreOnly thing worth considering is marketing. Look at companies like Xiaomi or Meizu. They have shipment cost too but they save the marketing cost. R&D? Lol that's very clear after Note 7. Margin is quite big considering Samsung phones are more overpriced than iPhones.
get an iphone. worth buying 6s than s7 edge
Samsung you kidding me? the difference between MSRP of note 7 and 7 edge is only $50
whos in right mind want to get that 6 months old phone even with $100 off (of course we all know you guys are making customers in Asia life in hell to get their money back if they do not want this downgrade)
Mkdc, 13 Oct 2016Smartphones cost less than 300$ in material costs to manufacture and offering a 100$ off 700$ ... moreMaterial is the direct cost. There are some other cost such as head office cost, R&D cost, marketing cost, shipment cost among many others. The truth is, the margin is not as high as you thought.
OdysseyTag, 13 Oct 2016Wonder how long it will take before people start getting tired and bored of the Note 7 drama. ... moreIm enjoying the free publicity Samsung is getting. Not a good kind but just enough to put iphone 7 news down the drain. I honestly dont even realized it had launched. Other phones too.
Smartphones cost less than 300$ in material costs to manufacture and offering a 100$ off 700$ smartphone is a smart business move as they will still make a nice profit instead of losing a customer
In an effort to keep those Note 7 owners who will probably be swapping for another brand and to fill the void this Christmas season, Samsung should beef up the S7 Edge by adding software feature now on the Note 7 including the S-Pen and iris scanner. Case makers could make cases that that could accomodate the S-Pen.
Thai buyers are the luckiest I guess.

Renato Oliveira, 13 Oct 2016I don't get it. You can't change the Note 7 for another equally expensive phone in the Sammy ... moreYou are getting the difference as well
I don't get it.
You can't change the Note 7 for another equally expensive phone in the Sammy line. Even the price difference between Note 7 and S7 Edge would probably be more than the USD100. Sammy is nuts, they should fully refund the user and then some.
What I really doubt is that people will ever pay over USD500 again for a phone coming from a company where the flagship is so faulty.
AnonD-507364, 13 Oct 2016No one cares about Samsung anymore... I foresee a real comeback by HTC & SonyBoth are too expensive for what they offer. People need to realise that we're probably hitting some current technological limitation on what you can put in a smartphone. Battery power has, is and probably will be for the next few years a massive drawback and all these quick charging solutions probably aren't making batteries more reliable and safe. Bring on the graphene!
May I get money Plez Samsung :)
AnonD-507364, 13 Oct 2016No one cares about Samsung anymore... I foresee a real comeback by HTC & Sonyyou know where to put that comment ??
AnonD-507364, 13 Oct 2016No one cares about Samsung anymore... I foresee a real comeback by HTC & SonyHahaha Sony nice joke
The same offer is available for Romania as well.
Orange Romania offered me the choice to buy switch to a Galaxy S7/S7 Edge with a 100E price cut or get a full refund (without any other "bonus" though, at least that's what I understood)
LOL, when I read this title I interpreted it as, you get some money back if you keep it and accept the risks :D
No one cares about Samsung anymore...
