moji, 18 Oct 2016Please update android version for Xperia e4gXperia E series never gets updates. Look up at XDA and make a custom ROM on it, it makes no sense to use Android KitKat today.
It's a QNOVO FEATURE to save the lifespan of the battery and improve performance. That's why it takes a little bit of time to charge.
It's the Marshmallow build. I've been waiting for this update for months on my Z2. It finally arrived last week. There are a few interface changes, I didn't notice any battery issues since my 100% battery charge doesn't reach a day, thanks to mobile data browsing. Lol.
I received this one for my Z2 tablet a while ago, I assume it is just some security update.
No Matter, 18 Oct 2016Now phone will start to lag and you will think that you need a new and more powerful phone.sometimes i feel the same bro
AnonD-287672, 18 Oct 2016He was talking about the performance with each update, not the update timeframeOk, I would say you need both to be considered 'stellar', but sure.......
battery last longer now

After the update, my phones (XA and XA Ultra) takes a while longer to fully charge to 100%, it stays at 99% for a much longer time before finally displaying 100%... Charges from 10% (or lower) to 99% pretty much the same timing with the 1.5mAh charger as before, but then the last 1% crawl to 100% is observable...
But battery life wise, its still the same as before... So 99% pretty much considered a full charge to me...
Sony is the best.
I own a z5 compact and after the update I got a message saying that there was some sort of battery optimization in place to account for battery aging which might reduce usage time. it had shown an option to turn it off but I cannot find it now!
I finally managed to resolve the battery drain issue after this update, so you better go to Settings > About phone > Status > Charging optimization and disable the "chargin optimization". My Z3 compact went from 100% to 20% in 5-6 hours and also twice from ~80-90% to DEAD ZERO overnight... SONY should pay for battery replacement after this *(&&*% update, because now it must have lost at least 10% of its capacity...
I received this update on my Xperia Z5 and yes, battery is draining early.. Need to charge it twice now or even thrice..
I thought there is a bit improvement in the battery life...
My Kingpin - SONY XPERIA Z5
Please update android version for Xperia e4g
Z5 compact. Updated last week. Not sure over battery. Sure feels Warner most of the time on standby
Seems to be "battery optimization" to bring longer Life time to the battery by not allowing it to load the battery full. 90% before, is now 100%. Can be cancelled in the menu if you rather would like longer day to day lasting time.
Anonymous, 18 Oct 2016honestly sony updates have been stellar so far... each made the phone faster and last longer. ... moreStellar....really?
Against my better judgement and out of a desire to have a powerful yet smaller (and more affordable) device, I recently purchased the X Compact.
It's security patch level is '1st June', thats right it has a security patch from 3 months before the device went on sale!
Hardly 'stellar' performance on the software support side from Sony I would say.
honestly sony updates have been stellar so far... each made the phone faster and last longer. It surprised me several times how they made the phone better and better instead of worse like the others do.
Hopefully this one does as well.
Now phone will start to lag and you will think that you need a new and more powerful phone.
