loooolll what a pitty
the 3 years old nokia 5800 xpress music just had a major update v52
while the 5 month old galaxy s won't have any future updates.
if nokia's symbian3 & Meego wont write success in the following months
..
so obviously the iphones are the leaders ...
LGiusti84, 09 Dec 2010It's The Samsung "One update" policy I suffered with my Samsung Spica (GT-i5700) str... moreeven v dont request they will make it 6 to 8 month to get on galaxy....
Below I meant "it shouldn´t be hard" sorry
By the way, Samsung never again!!!
I mean... the nexus s and the galaxy s pretty much have the same specs so Im guessing it should work just fine. But then again... if they do decide to release it for the galaxy s, the vibrant, captivate, etc. will obviously get it years later... its a lost cause
It's The Samsung "One update" policy I suffered with my Samsung Spica (GT-i5700) striking again!!!
If they don't want to affect the Nexus S sales there is an easy way out, delay the annoucment of the Gingerbread adoption, tell something like, "we first want to ensure a full froyo experience, and then start with the Gingerbread coding (expect 6 to 8 months at least)" so people who have a Galaxy S and can't wait would buy the Nexus S, the ones who just like their phone wouldn't become mad at paying premium cost phones to get screwed and the ones who don't care would keep not caring.
Actually the right thing to do would be to update the phone right away (is practically the same phone as the Nexus S and not a big update, so it should be hard), but hey, thats asking for to much, I'm still waiting for my first update (the Android 2.1 running on my Spica is totally flawed, so I won't consider it a real update)
Another one bites the dust :)
Well, what can I say, it is only now that I see that Android is limited by the phone manufacturers and that it sucks because of this update sh1t.
They should learn a couple of things from Nokia and Apple.
Hope that both phones get 2.3 Gingerbread and that the manufacturers focus more on updating their devices, which the customers paid GOOD MONEY, instead of releasing more and more devices, which will have their OS outdated in a few months.
And for the people who want to keep there Galaxy S, the new Nexus is the same phone so im 100% that there will be a port (in fact there already is^^)
shiva, 09 Dec 2010i dont think galaxy will get gingerbread if so it will effect nexus s sale so google wont allo... moreYeah... talk about NFC,
but in real life, how many people is really utilize this features whenever they were out for shopping or when paying for something?
Nokia has it long time ago in some of their phones but still, the acceptance for this technology is very slow.. so for that, I dont think NFC is really a big deal or `must have' features in smartphones today.. (at least for the next 3 years)
Ive sold my Galaxy S months ago, will sell my Desire HD soon also, so who cares? Just buy a new one with 2.3 on it ^^
Lets get real here guys!!! Its nothing to do with communication from Android. I think that is proven by the fact that Samsung produce the Nexus S and they "need to test performance useability" this is code for..........1. Will it take us long to implement? 2. Will it affect future phone sales
I try not to get the fruit phone but if this is the kind of mess they are making then i'm jumping. Sorry but it's not Apple that's drawing me ,it's other phone manufacturer's that's driving me away.
i dont think galaxy will get gingerbread if so it will effect nexus s sale so google wont allow it and the NFC (Near Field Communication) which need a chip which u dont find in galaxy s so its not possible for galaxy..... but sure they will delay the announcement to keep up the sale and thats the end of galaxy s......
Its all about the marketing and how all the big corp wanted us the consumer to keep believe what they produce is always good and make us feel that is exactly what need. Off course they didnt want SGS to have Gingerbread otherwise the Nexus S high price tag will be a jokes (though with a few upgrades / tweaks). Seriously I dont think its a wise investment for now with Nexus S considering the processor being used.. Everyone agree A8 Hummingbird is very good chip but it was earlier this year and we are now towards dual core already (helloMoto? - 1.2 TiOmap) and for the love of god, I believe now Apple is preparing for something big to be release next year.. and when thats come, i think the A8 Hummingbird could turn into ``penguin''.. (maybe too harsh but more or less) and that will leave us (the customer) with another big hope when Android will trump Apple for a good long run.. With that price, I think there will be coming very soon some phones with dual core tech and higher specs... (and at least with premium build quality too)
thanks ya all.
Google should now put their act together and create just one solified version of Android OS, and just call it Sweets or Dessert.
1.5 donut fryo bird ginger, eclier,2.0 cake bla bla bla... :(
Android's showing off it's true color and it's one messy OS.
That's why i don't like android and samsung... :(
Why galaxy s has the same tech specs as nexus s. That is not fair
That's why I hate this overated crap called Android, Galaxy S won't get Gingerbread, if you want Gingerbread, buy Nexus S. That's simple.
Android is a mess. No communication to the major phone makers.
