AnonD-116377, 16 Nov 2016Apple, don't be like Nokia. They didn't do anything wrong, but they never changed for the bett... moreNokia Symbian OS is only, only functional with phones that have keypads
Symbian is near impossible to write code to be used for touch screens, a relatively simple task took days if not week, that is why Nokia went to Windows.
Blackberry problem was it jumped onto or released a touchscreen phone too late.
Only in 2013 did Blackberry add a secondary camera to its first touchscreen phone the Z10
Apple already know as do their customers that 2017 will bring the anniversary phone, there will be a shape changes and more features, so why spend $750 now when all iPhones before it will be outdated with the 5 new feature it has
Apple sells bucket loads so don't feel sorry that the in 2017 you get a 2014 phone
Apple kept making record sales up to this one
one thing that I am sure of, apple is dying because of high price, there are a lot of phones out there, cheap and good for your needs already. This is just a phone. It is not a measurement of success if you have a 1000$ phone. This phone doesn't even have unique feature on it compared to other phones. As of now all phones have only few improvements, even for samsung, sony, htc etc. The touchesceen hype is becoming alittle bit boring now. I am still using a flagship phone from 2014 and I dont see any good reason to buy a new flagship. They are all the same, same functionality
SJM32, 16 Nov 2016I always dread reading the comments on stories like this as it makes all the Fandroids come ou... morehey..good comment..i read fandroids; and thought..great another ifan...but your comment was relevent and to point...most smartphone makers are conjuring up gimmicks rather than innovations(yeah..i know..not a favourite word for many)
for example the edge on the s7, or the taptic engine in the iphone 7 are things people can easiliy live without..
though in my opinion apple could be a lttile more open about file structure..i havent updated my ipad waiting for the latest jb
Nothing surprising here. iPhones are explosive, and are not on the same level as Android devices, in terms of functionality, system and power.

Who had thunk? Releasing the same phone 3rd time in a row does not pay well. Even mighty Apple falls when they continuously make the same trite mistake. Either they shape up, or they give up...
Apple is seeking features from Android or from China tech..Then they claim world 1st or apple own features.. All gimmicks every year..
for iphone 7, yes, the demand is quite low but there is a huge demand in Europe for iphone 7 plus; so what are you talking about?...the pre-orders from September for iphone 7 plus haven't been delivered. All attention was focused on iphone7 plus due to the camera and the jet black option. Truly people wants something new and they found it on iphone7 plus jet black
I always dread reading the comments on stories like this as it makes all the Fandroids come out & slate Apple, like my dad says, talking without their book....not really knowing what you are talking about.
As some have stated, Smartphones are on the decrease at the moment as no one is really offering anything new at this point, just a few gimmicks to tie us over until the next big things comes around, which I believe will be next year or the year after.
All flagships this year have minor changes over last years flagships, with exception to the G5 with something that has not really worked, but the minor changes have been good.
The S7/S7+ brought back things that people wanted, sped up the OS & improved on stability. The 7/7+ took away the horrible antenna bands, improved the camera, made a bigger storage option, took away the pointless 16GB option & made very good improvements to the iOS experience.
The worst thing is that if the big players in the Smartphone market decided to take a year out & not release a handset this year then it would be the same people slamming them for not being innovative slamming them for not releasing a phone.
Not all improvements have to be seen straight away.
Apple is on serious decline since Steve Jobs passed away, so no surprise there. They used to be an icon of innovation, that everyone was looking up to, but those are old days. Now it is Apple, trying to play the catch up game. Removing 3.5mm jack was a bold move, but a wrong one. This alone made a lot of people either stay with 6 or switch to competition. Same goes for lightning port, which nobody else is using. It's just awkward to use (same as Fire Wire they used to play with). It's not standardized and never will be more popular than USB. Apple's future becomes uncertain, as they are showing the same stuck up attitude as Nokia did. Granted, this is just a mobile division, but we all know this is Apple's most profitable branch at the moment. Will be interesting to see what will happen in next few years.
AnonD-116377, 16 Nov 2016Apple, don't be like Nokia. They didn't do anything wrong, but they never changed for the bett... moreNokia did many things wrong.
For Apple, the challenge is, that in todays market, there is little a company can do to differentiate themselves.
They all buy the same generation technology. No one developes enough by themselves, to get a real head start. The Xiaomi Mix is first with removing the top bezel (not all off it, but a lot of it), but expect to see more companies doing the same, in just a few months.
If a company finally put a product on the market, where the fingerprint reader is hidden behind the screen, soon a lot will follow.
Apple also has the disadvantage of buying components of their competitors, that are not likely to give Apple a exclusive deal, if it's a technology the company believes in. Plus, all new technology takes a while before it reaches mass-volume production, so anything truly new, would have to be introduced in quite a limited production series. So even if Apple would get Samsung or LG, to exclusively give them a run with folding displays, on their devices, it would be in a limited edition Apple product, and by the time, there could be enough units produced, so that Apple would have any chance of using it as a way to stand out, their exclusivety deal would have run out, or a competing company would have come up with a folding display.
Apple still sells a lot, much more than they should really be able to with their strategy, of such a limited portfolio, with such high margins.
Unless Apple suddenly end up several of generatons behind in technology, and everything else on the market seems futuristic compared to the iPhone. Or something drastic happens with their brand reputation, Apple will be able to stay around. Their market share could decline and their sells as well. But if they keep the margins up, and stays in control of iOS, they will make enough money out of the iPhones, to survive even if they sold significant less phones (I suspect, Apple would still make a profit even if they sold just a tenth of what they sell today).
AnonD-610577, 16 Nov 2016It's true.... Nowadays ppl are more into design. Like Mi Mix incredible demand and other phone... moreSamsung is doing fine with almost same design over the years :P
Exactly! Being Apple fan boy I didn't buy new iPhone this time even though I planned to buy but after iPhone 7 release I was highly disappointed and switched to S7 Edge which is great!
Anonymous, 16 Nov 2016Many people around me don't want to buy iPhone 7 due lack of 3.5 mm jack. And it's quite under... moreDo you know some headphones offer upto even 40 hours of battery backup so charging them daily is really not required.
I am amazed at the expert analysis here. "Apple is Dying!" since 2007. Wrong for 9 years and counting, then sales decline slightly (predicted), and "Wow! I am genius!" lol. Get over yourselves.
Anonymous, 16 Nov 2016Many people around me don't want to buy iPhone 7 due lack of 3.5 mm jack. And it's quite under... moreThe worst part about it is unlike android they use lightning port instead of type c. Type c is the standard, so android devices can easily embrace that as it'll be on PCs and stuff. But nothing uses lightning but the iPhone, even the Mac has type c but no lightning port. It was such a stupid move on Apple's part.
AnonD-116377, 16 Nov 2016Apple, don't be like Nokia. They didn't do anything wrong, but they never changed for the bett... moreSeriously Apple needs you. You are a genius.
.
Duel, 16 Nov 2016Kuo is still waiting Apple to sell around 70-75 million iPhones this q. Se even with less sale... moreIs this reversed psychology? This sound more like you trying to convince yourself Apple is not failing or Apple is not having sales decreased instead of you convincing others. Lol. Ok. Keep telling yourself that iphone 7 is so popular. I will go with the article that clearly said "iphone 7 demand decline".
in the day that apple will shut down it's iPhone lineup, Android will cease to exist as well.
Apple, don't be like Nokia. They didn't do anything wrong, but they never changed for the better. Your iphone is so boring and monotonous. You need to think outside the box and make it wow again. Only then i will finally let go my android and surrender myself to you! :)
