ssbatman21, 18 Nov 2016Why would people working in apple would work at minimum wage???
This is a stupid move and ver... morePeople wouldn't work under Apple - Foxconn or some equivalent. Apple could never afford to hire that many people without affecting it's bottom line.
There's just no way that what Trump wants can actually be achieved.
That is just stupid. His every move makes me doubt the authenticity of the polls or the IQ of americans who elected him.
Zero experience in politics, disrespectful to (almost) everyone, making fun of cripples and celibrities, cheap fame.... and now they gave him nuclear codes.....
Way to go america your president might star in a porno one day......
Whatever advances america is making in tech world is amazing but realistically they dont have the man power to execute all that practically.
The entire world's primary manufacturing base is china, japan, korea and india......
What is going to bring back to US next???
BPO companies from india....????
America is doomed.....
Apple customers are very loyal but there's still a limit of their patience. Doubled prices would definitely make a lot of them turn their backs to Apple.
mir, 18 Nov 2016The reason why the manufacturing prices are so low for products made in china is because they... moreWhy would people working in apple would work at minimum wage???
This is a stupid move and very unlikely to actually happen....
It will increase the production cost by atleast 200-250%
Anonymous, 18 Nov 2016When it comes to quality, which is better: Made in usa or japan?Japan no doubt....
samer1970, 18 Nov 2016Total rubbish. If it says made n Japan then it is made in JapanDoes it differ from country of origin ?
if apple moves to the states, their end will be inevitable! with huge surge in price, their buyers will considerably decrease and will have end like blackberry!
Let's be honest, trump has the US economy and the American people's jobs in mind when he talks about the import duties. And besides China has peaked. They know that. A move like could have a potentially worse effect on China then on Apple.
Great! Apple will finally learn something instead of taking advantage of everything for soo long.
I think if he make it true, iphone or mac will not for asian market, because he racist...what a pagan became president, he will use all his power
it only cost $300 for an iphone and thet're selling it at $1200 and now double? bye bye apple
apple is not even paying tax in ireland and results to price increase in asia, australia, middle east
sorry for my english
Really, right now the mac desktop already 20k maybe will raise more, could be will kill apple company, this remind me steve jobs...how he try to revive apple last time from bankrupt but with this way, will make it doom again. the device will be made by Republic of United States
Dsaint, 18 Nov 2016Are you all really unaware of how things are made? And could you not have read a tad more care... moreAgreed that BOM does not change. In China, Foxconn's production worker's monthlysalary is USD 485.00, includes accommodation and food. Can one imagine what the cost increment is if iPhones are really going to be made in America? Kudos Trump.
stupid apple, they should have started production here in our shores to begin with... instead they opted for those chinese and have the audacity to charge 400-500% mark up... and what do those very same people who manufacture iPhones? imitate it and produce a bunch of clones at apple's expense and Tim and company can't do anything about it... he's like saying "ok, let's build our iPhones here in China to lessen cost and make up for it on sale and let the chinese have their way if they wanna violate copyright infringement by copying our phones."
samer1970, 18 Nov 2016Total rubbish. If it says made n Japan then it is made in JapanNo it's true, whenever you open up most Japanese products you find the made in china lettering on the circuit board. More often than not it's Foxconn that builds most of everything.
YowYow, 18 Nov 2016that's what he said on CNN 3days after he won, he will have the nonUS-Citizens even the GreenC... moreWell, visas and criminal records are a tricky thing. There are plenty of laws and regulations that permit the government to cancel visas, depending on the severity of the crime. That's not really a campaign point, it's immigration law.
Dsaint, 18 Nov 2016Are you all really unaware of how things are made? And could you not have read a tad more care... moreShould Apple and other companies be forced to do this and sacrifice margins - shrinking profits - the share price and inevitably the stock markets will crash like you haven't seen before. Not what a struggling economy needs right now...
