TheWanderer, 24 Nov 2016You can deny it all you want but benchmarks do actually reflect real world performance. Keep t... moreBenchmark is protocole...
You can make him say what you want!
On CPU for exemple, on geekbench 3, single-core is better on Snapdragon 820 than Exynos 8890 and kirin 950
On geekbench 4, it's magic! Snapdragon 820 is behind both!
With gpu too...
Your protocole can use heavy texture or heavy geometry.
A soc can have good texture processing and bad geometry...or have bad texture processing and good geometry.
According the conception of the benchmark, you can avantage One soc or an other.
For exemple gfxbench seem to be textures oriented (my deduction).
You can see Mali 450mp6 (Amlogic S812 good texturing 6cores, bad geometry 2 old geometric cores) doing better score than Mali T760mp2 (mt6752) on T-rex, I test both soc, in-game 450mp6 is far behind. I have any find any game at all that runs better on 450!
Don't forget heavy throttling on Snapdragon s8xx when kirin 950 is very stable!
Ok I can show you throttling of s820 in a benchmark.
Compare T-Rex on-screen and T-Rex long term performances
Same test play one time or 30 time
Framerate drops from 41. 5fps to 26.9fps...about -35%!
When you play, you play less than 1 minute?
And it's pure gpu throttling without heavy cpu load...game use both cpu and gpu at same time.
It's a fact, in-game framerate measurement on many games are better on kirin 950 than s820 with same settings (exemple Real racing 3)
Beware with benchmark, they don't always represent well reality.
The question you must ask is : is the benchmark close to real life.
Stupid reviews get benchmarks such as gfxbench without long term test and without any analysis. Better reviews use too in-game measurement on 15minutes game sessions... Results are often very différent

Keep thinking that the pathetic Kirin 950 is better than SD 820/821, if that's what helps you sleep at night

Second, who says I'm complaining? You should work on your comprehension skills- clearly you need it.
Anonymous, 21 Nov 2016#MakeHelioGreatAgain Nope. They should switch processors at this point. And also stop stealing other countries catchphrases and slogans.
donald trump, 21 Nov 2016make america great again. make helio great again.Except one was great and the other never ever was lol
Xz8441, 21 Nov 2016Meizu, seriously?
With that slogan, just die already.
Mediatek, Helio, were never great ... moreFirst of all, about kirin : Mate 8 is faster than any s820/821 on many tasks...only gpu is a little weak but has a great stability...many games are smoother on kirin 950 than on s820 due to stability (and screen resolution too...for exemple real racing 3)
Don't see only benchmark, see real use! On many s8xx devices framerate falls After few minutes!
Due to your way of thinking, Mediatek doesn't make highend soc each year...
If you compare x20 to s820, you're making a great mistake : you compare 30dollars/20nm to 70dollars/16nm that's crazy!!!
Despite that difference, a few tasks run faster on x20 (for exemple x20 load Asphalt 8 faster than s820!
There's many good Mediatek soc
A few years ago mt6595 with Cortex A17 was faster than snapdragon 801...very bad sells due to high price. I think that's the only high end soc from Mediatek.
If you compare same price range soc you will have many surprises.
Mt6732 far far far better than s410 (worst cortex A53 usage)
Mt6752 far better than s615
Mt6750 better than s430
2016 wasn't a great year for mediatek. Helio p10 is a small improvement compare to mt6752. Helio x20 is 20nm, even if Mediatek does a greater job than Qualcomm with 20nm (see s810!!!!), That's not enough to compete on high end and that's not the goal!
2017 will be better
I think Helio p20 16nm will be better than s625...
X30 will be a very good surprise with 10nm...Mediatek try high end for the second time
Continue to ask for Snapdragon and you will give them monopole, it will lead to higher price and slower evolutions! You will get overrated custom cpu cores (Krait/Kryo) slower in real use than regular Arm (A15/A17/A72)...
[deleted post]So... in your "opinion", a chipset define a winner? smh :v // Mediatek is cheaper than your beloved Snapdragon, there are OEMs looking for money at less cost, so... you can now see why Mediatek was their choice... you're not gonna buy this phone anyways, so why are you complaining about? lol
Stupid MediaTek. How can something so substandard be pitched as great? Go away Meizu, not interested in ANY of your MediaTek phones. They can never be as good as SnapDragon / Kirin / Exynos based phones, so do away with the pretentious title already.
With that slogan, just die already.
Mediatek, Helio, were never great before, so it definitely can't be great again.
Mediatek chips are the worst, even worse than Kirin.
Nope. They should switch processors at this point.
Considering the upcoming sd830 the only acceptable will be the Helio x30 or x35
Helio P10 is junk of a chipset. Meizu is probably in fool's paradise to have such a slogan for their next brick.
no matter how many meizu phones are released... their all the same nonetheless... waste of money
