We all know what n900 brought 2years ago and it has gone many miles more to show what its made of, if u havent used N900 then you have no idea what i'm talking about, despite its limited specs but its a monster in smartphones world, it has proved to run many OS including dual booting btn them, usb OTG(using kernel power46 and H-E-N) and so much more to mention, no OS can battle Maemo 5(in multitasking and almost everything). But we all agree its time for new devices to rule, N900 era is almost over but the Motorola Atrix is more like a geeky/nerdy phone as the N900 is. u cant have all that equiped in one device, its crap... lets wait for N900 successor N9 with meego to take over again...

Get your facts right and straight. People like you are more of an annoyance than even the call dropping problem of IP4 or no updates from Samsung or same cheap looking mobile phones from HTC.

I can hardly hear anything my friend says on his N8...

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2011-01-09 06:10 from PRWZ - click to readProbably you are dreaming. N900 was launched way back in 2009. How about that and look at the capabilities and possibilities that it can offer since then. Things will go better by time but yes look what N900 was when it was released. This phone is not made for kids but for geeks and if you are a geek you will know what I am talking about.

When i look at my nokia n900, i find nokia miles ahead of all the manufacturers. It can do everything for which others are manufacturing pads and tabs. N900 is the true smartphone. Use it to believe it.

a proper docking station along with all simple features will make a smart phone a real laptop - its what we all need - a universal standard dock

Great thing, if I only need the web+media, I don't really need my notebook anymore. Talking about reducing costs... And the phone itself looks pretty good.
One issue though: Why haven't they put the HDMI ports on the "notebook dock"? Why have a collection of docks?
Oh and why not having the phone fit in as the mouse pad, much more elegant than having it stuck on the back of it. Better put some ports there.

The Motorola HD Multimedia Dock has three USB ports and an HDMI port enabling connections to a keyboard, mouse, speakers and HDMI-compatible monitor for working at your desk/office, or connecting to an HDMI-compatible television and home theater audio system for interacting with content and enjoying video, music, games and more in your living room.
The Motorola Laptop Dock has an incredibly thin design with an 11.6-inch screen, full keyboard, stereo speakers, 36Wh three-cell battery that delivers up to eight hours of battery life and weighs just 2.4 pounds. Users simply dock their Motorola ATRIX 4G into the back of the Laptop Dock to turn it into an active, connected machine to experience true mobility at work, home and playing on-the-go in a form factor that's lighter and smaller than most laptops on the market.

a laptop can't be a smartphone and a smartphone can't be a laptop
but moto is trying
if i wanted a laptop would go and get one and same with a phone
smart and stupid at the same time
