Nokia Music Edition N-Series

Nokia Music Edition N-Series - read the full textIt seems that Nokia has a track or two in their sleeves. Targeting at the music fans, the Finnish manufacturer has reinvented its popular N-series mobiles - Nokia N70, Nokia N73, and Nokia N91...

They make it sound like the n70 and n73 have the 3.5mm audio jack too. but i guess they don't, right? if not, then that's my only gripe.

Sony this and Sony that... Who cares about things like who came out with this and that first. And I donīt see any sign where it would read: "We were the first to do this".
Yes, they are quite much the same phones as before, just with new colouring and better music capabilities. But what was the W800 compared to the K750? I hear nobody whining about that...
When looking at these new releases, I think the bottom-line is that if SE and the others canīt keep up, then theyīll start losing customers.

Well said knowitall. Why are the imitating SE. "Dedicated Music button" Music Ripping Software" " High Memory Capacity"

Sony brought all this to the Market in Walkman series phones and Memory Stick Duo 4Gb and soon 8Gb

But its just funny to see then bring it out as if they did it first.

I still see no mention of A2DP. If this is such a music phone, then why gloss over that area? Its because these phones aren't much different than before. Just a paint job and a new software player. They didn't re-write the OS. And the memory....I'm not exactly blown away considering you can get 8gig SD cards now and 16gig extreme 3 compact flash cards. The only reason Nokia upped the n91 to 8gigs is because Sony released the 4gig MS Pro Duos, effectively making Nokia's flagship music phone pretty standard (and still awkwardly large compared to the W Series).

Don't believe the hype.

I like the n91 but...Increasing the hdd size? better solve the crashing issue of the drives first. Keep on crashing my 4gb... and now with 8gb??? i'll just double my headache.. Would wish the n91 came with miniSD rather than microdrive..

Looking at the N70 and N73 all Nokia have done is included a 1Gb RS-MMC for the N70 and a 2Gb Mini-SD for the N73, hopefully they have updated the firmware on both handsets. (Apart from the black casing like some Nokia N80 handsets) So for either user, you can most likely get your current Non Music Edition flashed, just like people did when the W800 came out and people updated the K750i, I wonder how heavy the N91 8Gb will be now.. I suppose it is keeping up with the recently announced 8Gb Nano i suppose.

I like listening to happy hardcore, and dancing around in my underpants,
Will there be some kind of clip so that I can attach it to my Y fronts(egg shell yellow, they were white but have become stained over the years)?

Ehh...Not all SE camera phones have Autofocus, for example the W700i. And I dont believe that SE make phones with 3.5mm jacks...they just give you a cable that allows you to use a 3.5mm jack. You can get a cable to do this for most phones!

Wld u guys stop wit SE, no Nokia, no SE debate... its gettin really old. Main point - photos show n73 wit revised keypad, yeah yeah!! Meaning that major problem wit old version is out the window, & also in black - better colour than previous! N91 gets more memory - Good, & N70 - well nokia need to learn to stop floggin a dead horse!

IF sony ericsson make the K800i with larger screen and symbian 9.1 UIQ 3 i think it would beat any of this new junk models of Nokia.. but of course its juz an -IF- currently the best phone ever is the N73 music edition and coming soon N95.. Hey anyone knows if N73 music edition can load up more memory in it through MiniSD? (e.g. internal memory 2GB + external memory 2GB)

I think that the differences in sound quality are quite small in this price range. I mean, my 6270 sounds better than my pal WalkMan when you use proper headphones.
Otherwise, I think this is a very strong move by Nokia, it will be interesting to see if Samsung or SE can do anything to counter this. The handycam concept (if there is one) suddenly feels boring...

tarantula, you know, the N91 8 gigs is the best music phone. Samsung's phone isn't musical, sound quality is bad, it just has same memory amount!
Still, the N91 was unbeatable, now the "N91 8GB" will be unbeatable. w950 is not a competitor, it does not have camera and wi-fi, and two times less memory.

Hey, SE W950 (isnt released yet) has the best music player software, the sound quality is comparable to N91, at least in beta firmware (mobile-review says this). Flash memory has more advantages than a hard disk, is a fact (life-time, data speed access, reliability).

Why is the surprise????? i am surprised for the nokia boys reaction!!
I know that samsung has 8GB phone-music player long time ago...LOL

I dont take into account N73 and N70, the sound quality is in the level of 3250, it means BAD, it make no competition to a walkman line in this field, i remember to nokia boys that the memory is not all in a music phone.

I think that nokia would put more effort in fix the bugs and lags because this software mistakes clear all enchantment to, otherwise, excellents phones.

One more thing, why nokia boys always compare their bricks with SE phones, why?? The main competitor of nokia bricks is motorola or samsung, these phone makers are more close to nokia market share.
If nokia has 34% of market share and SE only 6%, is a goliat vs david!
Remember who won this battle!!
