On screen buttons smh hate these thing and this the reason why didn't buy any phone with on screen buttons looks stupid and ugly plus on screen buttons eats around 25-30% of screen realstate. Thanks Samsung I will shift to iPhone or I'll buy S7 edge 128gb version.
Anonymous, 30 Dec 2016Please drop the front camera too. It is useless. What about the people that love taking selfies or use video calling/Skyping? I fall in the latter part as I Skype my parents a lot as I live a few hundred miles away & my fiancee is about to have our first baby so it has its uses.
Hope no this worst thing Samsung can do with there flagship.

Isn't the S-Pen another name for a stylus with a few things Samsung thrown in? All brands do this, they see an idea, tweek it a little & then because it is baked in the OS they name it something is unique to them. Even away from phones this happens & has been happening for years.
Also, 3D Touch & Force Touch are the same as in you do a harder press on the screen but the results are different. On the Apple Watch you Force Touch to give you more options, it is more like having another button without the button being there. 3D Touch gives you easy access to that particular applications functions so why can not they not be called different things?
To me there is no similarities between 3D Touch & the S-Pen. 3D Touch requires you to press on an application to get a response, the S-Pen works from any screen & the things it can do can be done from any where.
Please drop the front camera too. It is useless.

My bet is if Samsung do away with the hardcore buttons, the display will indeed be enlarged while the phone GS8 will not be bigger than it's predecessor. An edge to edge display.
Can't wait to see it if true:)
Back side is still not used to full potential, power/fingerprint button is just one drop, same as pins on moto. There is so much tech we can add on back, and on the other side almost nothing we can add to the front (with screen taking almost 100% if not more for edge ones).
Jimmy chow, 29 Dec 2016They really need to change the design. I want my phone to look 2017. just buy another phone from another manufacturer if you want your phone to look futuristic, the physical button makes them unique

That's why i find software keys ridiculous. Compare most phones with and without physical buttons and you''ll see they are basically the same size, yet you lose part of the screen with the software keys (Well unless you swype all the time, whick is ridiculously inconvenient).
If i buy a 5.5 phone, then i expect to have a 5.5 screen. Not a 5.3 screen with 0.2 buttons.
If thats true, thats bad news for me. Main reason i didnt bought other phones running android was the fact that these 3 keys werent taking display space. What drives me nuts on my nexus 7 is fact that buttons are moving around as i switch form horizontal to vertical and other way around. Not planning to go throught same crap with phone which I use more often than tablet. No flippin way.

Good riddance.
I'd rather have the navigation keys outside of the screen. Soft keys are annoying, whenever you wanna close an app, you must swipe to reveal the buttons, also they take part of the screen. Btw, I use easyHome on my s7e, that allows me to just touch (not click) the home button, problem solved
About time. Hardware keys was killed by Google since 2011 already. Now that Samsung joins the choir expect everyone else to do so as well. Better use that space for screen stuff instead of rigid keys that never go away...

Even in Apple watch it was FORCE touch. Then suddenly in new iPhones it's 3D touch. Apple has done the same cra* for years. Videocall = face time. Come on Apple at least give credit to the ones who actully made the technology. Rename it and make it sound like they invented an idea is an a hole move. Taking credit from the work of others. Even if they made it better, they should have enough balls to admit they didn't invent it and USE the ORIGINAL TERMS.

Another thing of past, it takes a lot of so important space, in phone world every mm^2 is important. I think others will copy just after samsung, well someone got to be first to mass-produce it. Again, if I imagine such device made by sony/?.. I got to wonder what battery life will be when its poor even now with big bezels...
