Haha. "apple will have something better" apple always lacks innovation..what they have is one of the best markting team in the industry, they can convince you that black is whith and you will fall for it!hehe.while LG has lots of innovation but their marketing team is a disaster..
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2017Removable battery ensure future proofing? You need a removable brain then, in case you die in ... moreNote 3 , almost 4 years. I'm in my 3rd battery because I can't stand losing more than 10% of my phone's full charge.
BTW talking, about being brain dead. Lithium cells degrade with time no matter what! It happens day to day, but it happens a lot faster than you think and it's more than clear when you swap in for a brand new one
Stay with your sealed nightmare, as for me unfortunately I have to look elsewhere as LG too fell victim of the terrible trend of removing primary features for secondary ones
"People werenÂ’t that worried about the price"
Last time I checked, 2nd most voted option with 25% votes was considered quite important. I guess I missed the moment when age of ignorance came. Anything below 50% seems to be insignificant today...
I, for one, am taking "wait until the price drops" approach. And I'm not waiting for G6, I'm waiting for S7 since S6 already went off the shelves - can't find it on sale anywhere locally.
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2017If not, will you buy it?Well if they switch to stock android or atleast comparable to the Oxygen OS by OnePlus then I just might! And yeah price should be decent if not cheap.
Claudiu.Lucian, 06 Feb 2017You are missing the point here...I talk about G6,a phone which will be released in spring 2017... moreSD821 is not outdated and surley no mid range chip. It's released in oktober 2016.
In real life use you will not see much difference between SD821 and SD835, except maybe in batterylife. But the price of a phone with SD835 chip will be more expensive...
LG has more time to test and optimize the SD821 chip on the LG G6 then it will have with the SD835.
Also SD821 had some good improvement over SD820 :
LG Should release 2 variants for G6. Get in a G6 with S821 NOW, so that people are attracted towards the Bezel less design & add a Plus model later once S835 is in abundant supply. That said the one with S821 should not be priced much higher than V20, Something in between V20 & the S835 one.
I dont know what all the hate LG is about! I would much rather have a phone that died on me than burn my house down. The only ones who will not buy the phone because of the 821 chipset are the ones who listens to all of the YouTube reviewers and a few online reviews. But for the average consumer no way! They can give a shit about the 821 vs the 835 chipset. All you read on these comments are regurgitated information from your favorite YouTube reviewers. No one has put on against the others as of yet! Do we know the problems that come with it? No! Because its not here yet! And what will you say if the 835 has a major problem? Make more excuses about how they didn't properly calibrate it for the system? What gives with you people nothing and I mean nothing stays on top forever including Samsung. I never knew that a phone had so much to do with one's self worth so i guess we have behind the velvet rope and Samsung's two face i mean two sided glass walls. Amd the funny thing about all of this is Apple's isheep were the worst on these kind of comments, now the Samsnots are ten times worst and mean makes the iPhone sound refreshing because the Samboys are too busy fighting their own brothers and sisters in the Android system. Would you want to leave Apple to come over to this big ball of confusion? Stay home Apple people Android is still to unhappy to play fare. They do say charity starts at home!
androidDee, 05 Feb 2017so all those phone that were release with SD821 were high midrange phones then including onepl... moreYou are missing the point here...I talk about G6,a phone which will be released in spring 2017 exactly on the same time with Galaxy S8, Xperia XZ2, HTC 11, Oneplus 4...and all those phones will have Snapdragon 835(which is 30% more powerful, somewhat more efficient and more feature packed than 821) and it will be released a Snapdragon 65X processor with the same performance as 820 probably ( it was the case for 652 with 810)...so The flagships will be the phones with 835 and the ones with 820/821 will be high-midrange/nearly high end, but not flagship... Yeah, now 820/821 are flagship SOCs, but in March 835 will be the flagship SOC... Do you understand what I am saying ?
Everyone loved the concept of the G5 too, implementation is everything.
zodiacfml, 06 Feb 2017It is odd, it will compete with the V20 all the other SD820 devices existing such as One Plus ... moreDepending on the amount of ram it will have. If it's a 6GB phone it will feel faaar faster than V20.
RAM amount is more important to every day performance/feeling than SoC ... Qualcomm SoCs hardly push performance these days
It is odd, it will compete with the V20 all the other SD820 devices existing such as One Plus 3 or S7 Edge
Claudiu.Lucian, 05 Feb 2017Better delay 2 months and bake a flagship than release now as a high midrange phone so all those phone that were release with SD821 were high midrange phones then including oneplus 3T N pixels huh
Asuna, 05 Feb 2017Think about it. Sammy bought all SD835 available. so the only option available for LG is to us... moreBetter delay 2 months and bake a flagship than release now as a high midrange phone
Bezel fine just looks like every other phone LG needs to break the mold show us something we haven't seen before waterproof a must it's 2017 fingerprint scanner should be under screen no reason it should be in the back you want one issue that will come down to decision between LG and Sam processor do you want an 821 where do you want 835 a consumer that knows nothing the price point will be the G6 a consumer that is text Suave is going to go for the Sam S8
Ok so when was the last time you bought a brand new 5 year old product? Exactly!
Your logic is flawed.
Ultimately 5 year old things maybe new and offer not much difference between the latest version but the big caveat is support and spare parts.
Im a power user and I want and demand the latest best for my cash, Something that offers last year's processor is exactly that! Last year's! If you want last year's stuff then kudos to you.
Many people look past the sealed in battery because they have never experienced the value and convenience of being able to swap out a battery for a fully charged one on the go and then put the flat one in a charging cradle to charge. It is so nice to not have to sit tethered to a charging cord or have a silly dangling power bank. Until a phone can charge fully in 5 minutes or less as if swapping a battery then that is when batteries can be non-removable but not now. Come on LG, the V20 feels and looks good and still has a removable back. You can do it.
Since nobody has a SD835 powered phone yet, why so much angst? What if it turns out to be another SD810 like processor?
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2017You won't be saying that next year when your beloved LGs financial results come in and they de... moreFair point, but I doubt that their core customer base are that bothered. The G5, which btw I thought was a wonderful attempt at modular tech (far above the now defunct project ara), was an unequivocal market failure. Most (premium) customers want high ascetic, high build quality products with a longer life cycle. Sadly, battery detachable devices rarely fit that category.
If anything what will finish LG is Samsung's marketing behemoth. Their ability to shift product is astounding, even if it's often sub-par.
