5.5" 4K. I have Mate 7 6" and I find it a bit too big. I'd love good vr experience on mobile phone which I hope will happen this year or next.
Question should be rephrased as best resolution for mobile. For a desktop monitor, which is to be viewed from atleast 3 feet, 1080 for a 22 inch panel is more than enough, while some may begin seeing seperate pixels at a 1080 p device of 6 inch
sorry gsmarena but this question is stupid ;c!
i think for around 5.5" if it isn't amoled 1080p is good!
for computer monitors 24 1080p is ok. but I rather get 1440p. specially at 27+
1080p AS LONG AS the screen is in RGB matrix and not that silly diamond pentile. Seriously, I feel the oneplus one is much crisper than the oneplus x..
AnonD-571637, 12 Feb 20175" inches with fullhd resolution are perfect for me I'm enjoying my Google pixel 5inch 4k display is perfect
Zenodroid, 12 Feb 2017After getting nougat on my s7, it's 720p.1080p on my laptop and 4k on my tv. As it should be. I am an Apple user. I think it could be 1080p on the S7 because it's bigger than 5in and also 2K or 4K on the laptop. And as TVs are getting bigger and bigger, I don't see a limit here.
I think its better to have a option for the user to switch the resolution like 4k to FHD between games, VR and daily usage to get most out of the smart phone....i am really waiting for this feature on smartphones!!!
krystian, 12 Feb 2017I can tell the difference between fhd and qhd. Can't between 720p and fhd generally. There's... moreAgree that with pen tile matrix, better to have QHD. But that too after 5.2. As u stated u prefer 5.7 or above, it's ok. But when you said u can tell difference between QHD and FHD but can't tell the difference between HD and FHD, I must disagree. while screen size being same, a 720p display pixel is 1.5 times bigger than a FHD pixel (assuming pixel is square) . But a FHD display pixel is 1.33 times bigger than that of a QHD panel. So clearly difference between the latter two is relatively small.
no need for VR now. who carries that large mask around to use VR anyway? If they can make it as compact as eyeglasses then why not? For now, the s7 edge's battery is enough (though longer is better). If only it has appstore, then it'll be perfect (used play store and it sucked so i went back to my iphone). My vote is QHDDDDDD
I always wanted to see 10-12inch 4K tablet. FHD is good enough for smartphone, especially a 5 inch ones.
1080p is fine until they come out with better batteries. 1080p is a good balance between battery time and quality. When they come out with 4000mAh and more (excluding chinese brands who already have it), then we can go up.
QHD. After using it on several phones, going back to FHD feels pixelated.
FHD is the best.
Imperator Neubaticus, 12 Feb 2017I will say it again for the mindless drones out there. QHD is better than FHD. Deal with it. T... moreIt's not even just about battery life or sharpness. To some people framerates are a huge deal. Not just for games, but also for overall UI smoothness. That single stutter once in a while gets more prominent the higher the resolution is. I'm not against QHD, but the chipset has, and I emphasize HAS to consistently deliver a 60hz (or whatever the refresh rate of the screen is) refresh rate.
4k is the best. Best for VR and best for every day experience if it works at 1080p (ala Sony's Z5 premium).
Only issue that it probably uses a bit more battery, (even when working at 1080p) because of having more subpixels to "operate". Bit as Samsung's 1440p panels showed the difference in battery can be negligible (Samusng's 1440p panels famously use less than their older 1080p panels).
My 24'inch pc monitor rocks smartphones no need more like that they're tiny screens wtf
if you want to kill your eyesight then use a VR. otherwise around 450 ppi is more than enough for any display.
AnonD-567849, 12 Feb 2017This poll is bullshit, cause it depends on the screen-diameter. If you have a screen with 5", ... moreThen don't vote are they forcing you to do it ?
I will say it again for the mindless drones out there. QHD is better than FHD. Deal with it. The difference is clear, unless you are visually impaired. And no, it doesn't necessarily have to compromise battery life. Unless you have an lg phone, which sucks for you. But i digress, go enjoy your inferior device all because you're too ignorant to see and accept the plain truth. It's your loss.
