In India I've Samsung GT I9000 , previiously upgraded officially to 2.2, Now I got it upgraded to gingerbread. It reads 2.3.3. Gingerbread. Not problem . Working great. Speed great. Not need for SII. Go for it. Find the site. Or email me, for the link.

that .33 is insignificant compared to .23 becouse it only brings improvements for NFC-BT pairing! Galaxy S doesn't have NFC chip so who cares!
what's important is that Gingerbread has serious optimization for Hummingbird and EXT4 file system!

can't await official update via Kies!

Two full updates 2.2 and 2.3 theatres pretty good for any manufacture to be fair so what if it is not 2.3.3 you guys just like to complain.

Wow !!! This is really a dream come true. Thank you samsung ! You are indeed learning from your mistakes. Another major update followed by the two previous updates (one major one minor) is an indication in itself that samsung are listening to their customers, finally. I find for myself no more reasons now to say thar "no more samsung". Samsung rocks !!!
