Guys, I do not see why the use of such a device is illegal. Both Skype calls and calls within a mobile business group are legal. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to get one such device and check it out as I believe that it will decrease drastically my mobile phone bills

The networks check the type of calls being made and can see when a Gateway is being used and as the network is supplying the infastructure to handle part of the call they take action when equipment is linked to the networked to route calls. These products are not authorised to be used in the UK.

Hi, as I understood, the MobiGater makes calls both ways: Skype to GSM and GSM to Skype. If it makes calls just like a mobile, how can vodafone stop this? It is just like a handy.

UK users should note that the use of Gateway products such as this are illegal. Vodafone recently took a company to court over the use of this type of product, won the case then got the SIM disconnected. Until the Networks authorise the usage you risk losing your £.

That IDEA Isn't new, but actually the whole scheme about this communication type Is very interesting, and if people will accept and use networks like this, global system for mobile communications can be changed or be replaced with mobile network like this above, and maybe all operators will come together to beat dat skype shit :D whateva man... cheap...but how about quality, is it even safe ?

If I understand this product correctly it’s a hybrid that’s covers the gap in-between a pure Skype phone and a normal legacy cell phone. This not a state of art cutting edge technology product but it’s actually quite a clever solution based on known and tested HW/SW for the user who will or can not invest in a new WiFi or 3G powered Smartphones witch can offer the same technical solution with a Skype Mobile download! With this product you will get the newest cost saving technology working hand in hand with your exciting cell phone portfolio, so yes it’s actually not a bad idea for the small and medium size business if it actually works in real life!

rolly, I see you don't have a clue. This thing will work everywhere using regular voice call. What you offer will need either expensive data transfers or Wi-Fi hotspot.

this is the most stupid invention i have ever seen... why would i pay for 200 euros when i can get a free skype service using some software like SoonR. There are many ways to get skype service... you can also buy a cellphone that can be installed with a mobile skype software...

This looks like a superb piece of kit perfect for the high level users of international calls. I work for o2 and the cost of having unlimited calls between o2 customers is low so this would be a very inexpensive solution
