hahahaha so what if it's going to shoot 1000 fps after all its another bomb from Samsung it's going to be same as note 7
JordanBaby, 17 Mar 2017If Samsung isn't copying Sony, then they should've had some rumors about this way before the X... moreOkay let's say Samsung copies from the competition, it steals the USP features of all other brands and put them in one phone. But what do we get? An ultimate device with all the latest technology making it superior than all those phones whose USP features are incorporated by it. As a customer I care about getting everything in my phone. Why would a customer care about copying when he is getting a device which has everything available in the market distributed in different phones. When the first car with air bags launched, other companies didn't say that we won't copy such thing. Nothing is exclusive, if Sony makes a phone with amazing camera then I'd love to buy a phone who copied and made a better camera instead of a phone who put an inferior camera by saying that we don't copy other brands.

The Samsung sensor is the better performing sensor to of the 2:
Samsung ISOCELL Sensors do just as good if not a better job than Sony. :)

Zenodroid, 17 Mar 2017Maybe bc sammy uses sony camera in their phone ;-) I'm excited to see the cz vs leica battleLOL! Shame you have to keep telling yourself this.
The majority of S7 and S7 Edge use Samsung ISOCELL Sensors, so there goes your Sony sensor mambojambo out the window.
A Camera Sensor is just one part, the algorithms that deal with post processing are just as important.
As a Sony fan you should know this, as they are good at making at the hardware but terrible at the algorithms hence their phones are never the best in imaging.
if this is true, then think about samsungs advertisement. super slow motion, super duper slow. super ultra slow and super galaxy slow.
I have a bad feeling about this S8 that it's going to have some major hardware problems like S4 and S5 had befor (no SIM recognition, dead bluetooth/wi-fi module, dead proximity light sensor etc.) in terms of heat and hardware/software failure...

Vic, 17 Mar 2017Guys, it's just a rumor which most likely won't be true. Most probably it's intended to switch... morei'm still waiting for maybe S9 or S10 hoping for a night visioning and more slow-mo grades...

Samsung are always making very clever moves especially with Media in our Smartphones, the Galaxy S7 Edge to this day is up there with the very lastest smartphones in the Camera department, nobody even cares about the old XZ that was average at best. :)
Someone Else, 17 Mar 2017Whaaaa? That doesn't make sense. The XZ Premium will be shipped in June. More than enough time... moreMaybe Sony has the more feasibility to produce the photo-sensor due to several customer demands... i.e. if i am Samsung, why should i invest for wafer and diodes fabrication (front-line process to back-end) for my own use if i could source it out from well known supplier which is Sony. investing in wafer fab is big investment... unless Samsung has lots of market for Samsung dice/dies... and research and development is also a need to be considered for them... Sony is ahead on this.... even big DSLR camera maker buys photo-sensor from Sony.

Get a grip, Samsung have been superior in getting the best results with their camera algorithms, this is just another example of them owning Sony. You should be used to this y now. :)
Hephaestus8, 17 Mar 2017You are more into performance than look? Your previous comment was saying how boring it is. Yo... moreYou didn't read the comments fully then. I never talked about the look, but I did talk about how useless edge is and how it makes the phone annoying to use.
