Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 to get Gingerbread in Q2, Q3 this year - read the full textNo - this isn't one of our April Fools Day jokes. It's the real deal, confirmed by the Sony Ericsson Product Blog and everything. It seems that the guys over at Sony Ericsson haven't forgotten about the godfather of their Android lineup, while promoting their second wave XPERIA smartphones....

It's still a pretty decent phone.

My X10 is 14months old, since i started from P800 i loved SE phone, but the support had stop abroptly and i turn to K750 to K810 just to be in touch with SE. But due to current limitations of upgrade for X10 and due to SE marketing strategist i almost lost my appetite again but able to hang on. Unfortunately spend $30 to get the upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1 huh! another frustration cant do the upgrade by myself due operators restriction & my global location and i almost planned to root my X10 before the 2.1 upgrade was release. So hanging tighly this is a real good news that SE will continue to support X10 by Gingerbread upgrade. Hope that limitation can be ruled out since it may be the last upgrade for aging X10.

Over 95% of the phones i have bought and used, have been Sony Ericsson. My latest phone is the X10 which I love. My only disappointment was the lack of upgrade to froyo when others were doing so. It is nice to know that Gingerbread will renew my love for the SE brand.

Will you upgrade the XperiaTM X10 mini, mini pro and XperiaTM X8 to 2.3?

No, we have no such plans. We have had to prioritize our resources and have therefore focused on delivering the upgrade to XperiaTM X10.

Dude at the moment no handset has 2.3 at all!! It's only google nexus s phone that has it.

So, I think the timing is really not bad, specially that they will just be releasing their new xperia range phones for 2011.

I' enjoying using Android 2.2 on my Galaxy S. I'm sure 2.3 on a SE X10 will be over nice, I don't know why one would buy an iPhone...
