I sell mobile phones and there is an increasing amount of customer having problems with android on o2. The problem being that they recieve the same txt message up to 30 times throughout the day.
Problem only happens on o2 and another problem with the same network is that symbian handsets seem to loose the ability to send txt messages.

Faults aren't always with the handset / os

> In reply to stefaan @ 2011-03-26 13:15 from nw}e - click to readI agree with that. It's good that they are delaying the launch to fix some issues. Unlike Nokia who admitted that the N8 have the purple screen defect and their Nokia Care Points are still confused about the issue. Nokia should do a recall but they are doing damage control instead.

Beter delay the launch of the Xperia Play than to act dumb like how Nokia handles the purple screen fiasco on the N8.

From o2 directly. we’re announcing that we’re delaying the launch of the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY. Our extensive testing has identified some bugs with the software and we want to provide O2 customers with the best possible experience.
We’ve been working with Sony Ericsson to get these bugs ironed out, but haven’t been able to get them fixed in time for us to be able to launch the phone on 1 April as we originally planned. We hope to launch Xperia PLAY as soon as possible but want our customers to have the best possible experience with their phone so will monitor the situation closely over the next couple of weeks.

The delay may be disappointing for customers waiting for this device, but we believe that if the phone was released with its current software, it would not provide a good experience for customers using it. We want our customers to know we’re thinking of them and want them to be happy with their phones.

Customers can be kept up to date by going to www.o2.co.uk/comingsoon/xperiaplay and clicking ‘keep me updated’.

The next gen PSP is much better than this, why playing games on your cellphone it'll kill the battery. Mobile games is just to kill time when you eg wait for someone or on the bus,not for some serious gaming.

I agree with abhi,

Guys this is not Sony Ericsson's Mistake, its a by the O2's software team...

Xperia PLAY has the best android OS software on it,
the software by O2 on top of it has some issues, thats why they are delaying the release... read it clarly

> In reply to Johnny @ 2011-03-26 01:54 from vG0Q - click to readHey troll don't force me to say bad words but this is not a SE problem.
Xperia Play of vodafone, orange, US carriers and carrier free/sim free devices is perfect without any software issues.
Problem is with the customizations that O2 is doing with Xperia play.

People pl dont buy this phone from Vodafone or anyone else, b'coz if O2 says it has software issues, then even on Vodafone or any other xyz provider, it would have issues.

Cheers!!

> In reply to b @ 2011-03-25 19:48 from 3Jb5 - click to readWell said, this is a network issue, NOT a S.E issue as the phone is available on all other networks with no reported issues! Its always O2 I think you will find and their poor network that lets them down with high end decent phone, just look at the iPhone and the poor service from O2 you get on them???
