Why are carriers there doing this when it's pretty much a deal breaker for many? Or the consumers has no choice?
You're correct that Verizon is wrong for doing this, but somehow you fail to mention that Samsung gladly agrees to it and is equally as wrong.
In the eyes of Samsung, Verizon is their customer, not we, the consumers.
Also, this relationship is equally true for any major carrier, and any Android OEM.
