I don't like the fact that you cannot change the button icons. I'm on Android because I like to customize my phone 110%.
By the way, has anyone tried to root the S8 so far? If I can't root a phone it is useless to me.
Having an android flagship without root is like having a restricted iPhone.. Pointless.
How about the clock in the notification bar?
cyber, 26 Apr 2017it will burn no matter what they try, thaths part is inevitable, that ,,shift'' justs delay iteverything on screen burns eventually...that doesnt mean you should stop using the screen!!! ... the skipping or jumping is smart move to avoid burn effect (similar to screen saver ..isnt it?)...and it will be well over the device's lifetime..which is normally couple of years. and if at all anyone has still doubts..they can simply choose to stop the always on display or hide the home button from it.
Polius, 26 Apr 2017It does goes around the screen but only within the pressure sensitive area of the home button.... moreIt will burn in. I do not have concerns cause i will not buy one. All, Amoled devices with on screen buttons have them burn in, more or less. So, one that trys to keep them on? 100 % will burn in. Now, that does not mean it is very bad, depending on how people look at the situation. I, my self, am used with my lumia 950 xl and it's burn in buttons.

Best fp/power button design and placement.
Plus using ips lcd, so no worries abut burn ins.
Plus, no always on nonsns, that seriously lowers your batterylife to some 2-3 hr SoT.
Seriously, Who uses that nonsns feature anyway?

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2017So, the always-on is better in G6...It isn't. An AOD is not the same thing on an LCD. It literally means your display is always on, just as if you were texting or watching a movie.

The argument can be made whether OLED is ready enough to successfully replace LCD, as the burn in is still much better than plasma, while the tech is better in most if not all other aspects.
