I'm not a Samsung hater, but I don't like bad quality controls or bad costumer service... And this company is showing both! It looks like since de Note 7 failure they only concern about marketing and profit (and to wash out the scandal of corruption and bribes). The S8 is with no doubt a NO-NO for me. From the odd fingerprint reader position to all the issues that the devices are showing in such a short period of time (the latest is related with the wireless charging) plus deliberatly lying about the headphones (just branded and calibrated by AKG) the sum of all is really dissapointing. And that's just what's related to the S8... Because the A 2017 serie have some issues too and Samsung don't even bother in addressing the problems. As a Samsung device owner, I'm VERY dissapointed.
still no definitive testing on this issue. i still think this is just some consumers are used to and still using cheap displays (laptop, TVs) with bluish tint.
At this point Samsung should just say meh to AMOLED and move onto their new Quantum Dot displays.
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017This is the first time ive ever read about the red tint issue with amoled. Excuses?Yes, Samsung can't afford another PR disaster and they will say anything at this point.
Samsung thinks we're all stupid. This is just another example of poor mfg QC on Samsung's part. If went through three S8's in one week and now back to my iPhone 7 plus. Samsung blew it big time.
I don't believe Amoled in the future. Up until now IPS panels are the best.

If they re smart, they ll turn away from that deal all together.
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017Samsung is useless; they can't keep their promise to deliver 70 million panels of oled to Appl... moreSo if samsung are useless what do you call the company that need the displays from a useless company LOL :D
In my opinion this is a weak excuse from Samsung, do not misunderstand me, I am a fan of Samsung. If you look at the pictures, you can see that even on one screen there is a colour difference. Strange, very strange. Maybe it would be better if Samsung would have chosen a different screen type.
i love s8 design but this time is for xz premium .. i ll purchase this xperia this time

While for the white page, the black font show the most contrast just like a 'Black hole' is it more comfortable for reading? No.

Shadow Snypa786, 27 Apr 2017That must be why Apple and other OEM want screens from Samsung you should tell them how useles... moreSamsung is useless; they can't keep their promise to deliver 70 million panels of oled to Apple on time. The delay proves that Samsung is not as good as you think.
"Users can optimize the color depending on their preferences." Blatant lie! Yet expected. This problem has been there for years. Simply passing defective panels to save costs.
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017but what happens after the update? I understand you can "fine tune" using Adaptive Display RGB... moreRed isn't normally in line with color temperature so yeah, most of these are probably poorly tuned displays at best or poorly mapped diamond-pentile pixels at worst.
Polius, 27 Apr 2017That was before the update. Check again after update. The update provide customers with a furt... morebut what happens after the update? I understand you can "fine tune" using Adaptive Display RGB sliders but would it fix the AMOLED Photo and other modes as well? Because if I use any other display mode than Adaptive, the entire thing just becomes pink - and no - this is not a subjective perception of white-ish colour. The whole thing is pink.
mischa, 27 Apr 2017The S8 has a maximum brightness of 1,020 nits which is exceptional for an AMOLED display and i... moreOhhhh!
gsmarena mesured 600 nits max for S8 and S8+, not more.
And being an AMOLED display, the more the brightness is, the quicker the display will be lose brightness. LCD/IPS doesn't have tihs kind of problem.
Harold, 27 Apr 2017Samsung like you is a failure lol..ugly phones, no proper updates, slow, useless screen That must be why Apple and other OEM want screens from Samsung you should tell them how useless Samsung are :D
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017Again, there is no pure white, everybody perceives light differently based on the normal tempe... moreThis isn't even mentioning the brains ability to "correct" off-white tones within certain spectrums, which means your brain is actively changing white tones, to its perceived notion of what white is. Anything within the ~3000K to ~7000K range can be affected.
This also isn't mentioning color gamuts, or color space theories.
