Zenodroid, 15 May 2017So you mean all companies should make about 10 different sizes of same phone? Gl on that idea. No.
i told you last time GSMARENA with the same poll, most ppl are average/short with small hands so they all chose the small phone, is it really that hard to figure out?
this kinna poll doesn't get anywhere like this unless you add a below/above 180cm height to it. i wonder how many ppl above 180cm would like to have a 5.2" small phone or how many below 180cm like to have a 6" or above, that would be a helpful poll not this.

This poll reflects the current market pretty well: it doesn't matter if your preference is for something smaller than 5.2", you aren't even offered the option...
The poll should not start from 5.2. There should be 2 other options: below 5" and 5".
Id vote for 5" with small bezels
The ideal screen size is whatever works best for the individual user.
for an avarage hand and pocket size 4.7" ~ 5,0" is ideal i think. If you use your phone for business or smt focussed on screen (gaming, reading long articles etc.) its ok 5,5" or 6".
But the optimal size is 4,7"~5,0". please don't forget the people who dont want large phones in hand or pocket.
It depends on many factors: usage, hand size, what you usually wear, your work style, your eye-sight, price-to-secs ratio, media consumption, you usually use tablet or not (people who usually use tablets to read and work, tend to have a small screened mobile).
If all other factors are neutral, for sure I prefer 6 inch/above 6 inches with small bezels
LG G6...Perfect Size phone..
5.7' screen fit in 5.2 Body Ratio
Compare LG G5 Vs LG G6...get better idea
Anything above 5-5.2 is too big to be used with only one hand.
They should give us the option to move the status bar at the bottom of the screen like xposed framework.
If the display is too big, there is also the privacy issue, as everyone can see what you're doing on your phone.
4.7 to 5.0" inch screens anytime. Technology evolves every year but our hands don't. Phone companies should continue to focus engineering on smaller phones and not make big, unwieldy devices just cause they have more real estate.
I think 140mm x 70mm would be a great size, whatever the most screen that could be accommodated within that size which I'm guessing could be up to 5.3".
It's all depend of bezels and size on the hands. Some 5-inchers with large bezels, are almost equal in size with 5,2-5,5 inchers with thinner bezels. But for warm seasons, with less cloathing 4,5-4,7 is perfect for tiny pockets. :)
and about 72% screen to body ratio.
I think I have an average size hand so the ideal phone can be used in one hand.
And also I do not know why no option for this in your poll.
As an iPhone 7 has a 4.7", Sony Compact devices are under 5" too,
Moto G5, E3, Samsung's low end phones has 5" screens.
I guess with the advent of different aspect ratio's, we need a new poll:
"What is the ideal screen aspect ratio?"
Because with the advent of different ratio's, screen diagonal are no longer indicative of the actual size. I mean if the new iPhone does have a 21:9 screen, then sure you can have a 6.4 inch screen that fits comfortably between your fingers, but would need an extra-long thumb to reach the notification bar.
I think the ideal ratio should be around 16:9, with little wiggle room. Maybe 17:9 at max for smartphones (a la Mi Mix) and 16:10 for tablets.
Why? Because 16:9 is the most widely used standard. Most TV's screens are 16:9. Common Video resolution 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K 2160p are all 16:9. (The only exception are the occasional 21:9 movies, but IMAX is usually 16:9, but I digress from the point).
When we have a perfectly established standard (like the 16:9 ratio or the 3.5 mm headphone jack), why reinvent the wheel and create unnecessary problems?
Hence, I believe screens and native camera resolutions should be around 16:9!
