I don't get why Sony keeps adding to its phone lineup every 6 months. Why don't they just stick to one premium line and add different screen size and color variants? Enough with the alphabet soup Sony. XZQU whatever, "excellent" "super supreme" or "grande." Just refine your products, and improve the design! smh
Sham, 23 May 2017Since many years, people are asking for a Xperia Compact series phone with DUAL SIM. When Sony... moreShame on manufacturers i cannot find a dual sim phone with 4.5 inch screen and 3 gb ram even though i am ready to pay a premium i am stuck with s4 mini and i am waiting from F**ing 2 years to buy a decent phone. if iPhone makes a dual sim will switch to iOS i am fed up with andriod quality and manufacturers. Google will introduce some bug or remove a good feature in every new Android version to re-introduce in the next iteration to bring down user experience down so that they will upgrade when new version comes. Cheap tricks from google. Android manufacturers are flooding the phone market with big screen phones now so that they can introduce bendable phone from 2018 which could be extended to double the screen size when opened like a book. eg : Samsung GalaxyX therefore everyone has to upgrade again coz of the new Fad.That's how these manufacturers are/can sustain revenue growth. Truth is manufacturers cannot push for Hardware performance more than what it is now people are not expecting to watch 3d movies on mobile we can already see limitation on primary camera currently.

Sony DOES cover water damage just as long as it wasn't your fault. Meaning that the phone had no external damage and the adhesive didn't last for example. Happened to me once and the warranty covered the water damage. Had no issues with the whole warranty.
I really do hope that the XZ1 Compact releases in India. The Z5 Compact and X Compact were skipped.
ying zu, 24 May 2017I have the sony x compact , never had before smart phone that were very usefull and comfortabl... moreYeah it is definitely a sturdy device, only issue is how easily the back panel scratches.
I'm using a carbon fibre skin anyway so non issue for me.
Yeah glass back are really stupid. why cant they use metal back with texture so it will withstand drops and not beeing slippery.

ying zu, 24 May 2017I have the sony x compact , never had before smart phone that were very usefull and comfortabl... moreHaving broken (and replaced) the back cover of my Z3 Compact a number of times already, I'm now averse to phones with glass panels at unnecessary places (read back panel).
Let the reviewers complain all they want; they hardly use a unit *continuously* for a year or more. We the users will tell you how much more unappealing it is to have a shattered panel than a high quality plastic one.
ying zu, 24 May 2017I have the sony x compact , never had before smart phone that were very usefull and comfortabl... moreI believe that the samsung S8 back glass panel and front rounded edge glass screen shutter so easily . Hope Sony won't use glass again , nothing wrong with the latest generatin plastic .
I have the sony x compact , never had before smart phone that were very usefull and comfortable more than the x compact , I started with the blackberry to smasung tablet 7 , note 2 and 10 more brands before settling on z3 , z5 ,z5 compact and x compact is the best I had. all this story to say that I hope sony will keep that x compact high quality PLASTIC , it is so durable strong not bending still look shiny and new ( with back cover always ) ,better waterproof than other material, compared to all my previous shuttered glass back covers and low quality plastics. broken paneles and front lcd screens on my samsungs 4 and 6 , lg2 , sony z3 back glass, and iphone 6's in my family . The x compact is the all rounder winner of them all.
Peteraven, 23 May 2017When these are coming out? Particularly Sony xz1 compact? For sale in october
Anonymous, 22 May 2017I wish a compact with 4.7" FHD screen, less than 8.5 mm thick with around the same battery. I ... moreThere are lots of tall/wide/slim devices, but only Sony Compacts are compact enough to me. I really don't care about thickness, below 9mm is slim enough. What I would appreciate is a rounded back, like the Xperia S had (I also liked the translucid strip, btw) which made it more comfortable to use than the Z3c.
XZ1 is exactly what I've been waiting for. Basically the XZs but with the 835 SoC and a bigger battery.
Waiting (im)patiently for this phone to drop!
D8Sen, 22 May 2017I'm using Xperia Z3 with 3000mAh battery it last 2 days!! Sony power management is awesome. Mine even last for 5 days with lower brightness. No alarm clocks, No vibration, No sound, No Wifi, no bluetooth. No background apps running such as location services are off. 3G/4G data off.
Pure call and text usage.

Compared to the x compact, it would be a move to a 10nm soc from 28nm resulting in improved battery life.
