why dont they call it a better name that actually makes sense... seriously, "gingerbread"? wtf, how is that relevant to phones? Just makes it seem like an unproffesional toy, thus iphones being a smarter choice for a business phone or someone who is serious about theyre mobile phones
I am from Holland and there is still no update for my galaxy s. So this poste is not correct.
Gingerbread 2.3...... Never dream of it now, mine don't even get the 2.2.1...... Why Sammy in Asia Pacific is so slow...........................

Anybody else, who has updated and suddenly after a succesful update to the fast-gingerbread version of android lost their Daily Briefing App? Both the widget, the app and the integretion with the alarm-clocks is gone? What the fuck Samsung, that was a great feature? U really want us to buy Galaxy S II, huh?
sm.gurdeep, 17 Apr 2011(This) is not about SE here is it ?No, but I can make any comment I want. Samsung has been stubborn to upgrade their phones, FACT. Now years after competition is getting tougher they get generous and start giving updates? I can see through this.
Its easy to install, instructions are on http samsunggalaxysforums dot com
I live in Brazil, but I have a Galaxy S I9000 bought in Germany. There's no update for me yet. :(
Finland has the gingerbread update!!!!
I had few problems with it...first update was something (2.2.1 had it all ready so it was a prep up)
but the next gave 2.3.3.
second changed all...the info bar (top of the display) didnt work was lost...and few minor bugs.
But i made factory settings and all is well...Back up was no good, because i had to download all apps again. all messages lost. pictures and video was thankfully on external SD.
I noticed that the Gingerbread is half Finnish and half English. Just like the first update of froyo....example menu had Finnish but the "settings" or "more" was not in Finnish.
I noticed that the new software IS lot smoother and faster.
And it has few tweaks on graphics here and there.
Only time will tell what has it done to the battery.
