"The phone supports 34 network bands, hinting at the company’s desire to build a flagship for the whole world."
That may be, but it doesn't support T-Mobile's upcoming (later this year) band 71. So for T-Mobile users it's going to be obsolete very soon.
I agree totally, the difference between full HD and QHD is more obvious in larger display.
Honestly this is the first OnePlus phone I stopped considering before it was even out. The company stopped being ethical, while I would not want to be caught with having a phone that looks like I'm an Apple copycat that costs not much less these days. The bezels are huge, the camera sensors are tiny, and there's nothing standing out this time around.
1080p just right for battery.
Same as J7(2017) except for faster cpu and noise cancelling mic.
Bruh, 21 Jun 2017oneplus 5 = 500+ price oneplus 6 = 600+ price?Better buy the original one. IP7/IP7plus hehe
oneplus 5 = 500+ price
oneplus 6 = 600+ price?
COME to mama Oneplus5!
so sad it lacks of 1440p display. (it really visible for the 5.5" phone, i used e9+ QHD and redmi note 4 1080p, it has huge difference)
but in my opinion, as long the 3.5mm jack are there, this flagship still worth to buy.
my conclusion, the minus of op5 is still using 1080p for flagship phone, and would be awesome if it had bezel-less display like G6 (i'm not a fan of edge phone like S8). and minus of microsd port.
The prime negatives in op5
1. Lack of ois
2. Zoom lens not good enough even being 20 mp
3. With the thickness of 3t they could've installed 4000 mah battery
4. No stereo speakers, no hifi audio either
5. Wireless charging is a must nowadays
6. No IP68 either.
I was especially let down by the camera the f1.7 with 16 mp still produces more noise than the s8 the portrait mode is good but not the best ip7+ background blur is much better than op5.
If you call yourself flagship killer you gotta check all the points above and not just the cpu gpu and ram
Not to forget the 1080p display when others are offering 1440p
Anonymous, 21 Jun 2017It has sd 625. You choose 835 or 625? Compromise has to be made somewhereThe 3t had the best snapdragon & ois what do you want to say?

You had one job, develop a flagship grade affordable smartphone. That's not the case anymore. You copied iphone 7 +'s design, because? reasons i guess?
Yeah it has dual cameras now, the wow..
If it was 100$ cheaper it would be recommendable, it's durable with an all metal finish yes, but with this design and the fact that it carries the 1+ name without being affordable, quite make it not recommenable.

Oneplus 5 feels like a great phone for 500$. In my opinion is at least as good as S8, the fact that it has a 16:9 aspect ratio screen is a plus. I'm very curious how it handles all the 8GB of LPDD4X RAM.
Can't believe this has no ois at this price point, even the asus zenfone 3 zoom has ois with similar dual camera setup
Anonymous, 20 Jun 2017That's the pricier OnePlus for ages. Xiaomi is almost $200 cheaper for similar/better specs. ... moreTrue, but we're not in China unfortunately. In my country, it's a price that blast the competition in terms of raw specs for price.
Stupid iphone 7 plus clone!..shame on oneplus team!!!
