Anonymous, 27 Jul 2017get xz premium no phone has that much pixel density for vrBut it doesn't officially support Google's Daydream though, apparently it's not good enough.

As for EIS imagine if Samsung didn't have OIS the Sony super-fanboys would have a field day with it; if you're paying flagship level prices then it better have OIS included even if you don't care for it.
Hoffmann, 27 Jul 2017Xperia XZ, XZ1, XA1, XZ Ultra, XZ Premium etc... What the fck is going on with these retarded names? They took a chapter out of Xiaomi's book lol

What you did is exactly what chinese brands do. Just buy and built.
I did not have to make any research, develop new tech, pay royalties for patents.
You do not have any employees, no machines that use power and need management , sometimes machines need to be fixed or replaced.
You did not pay for you phone to be taken to stores, no advertisement.
Even without all that , phone costed to you 400,00.
This is why cheape chinese brands lose money yearly
It is fake...
Somewhere is written G8141 ( XZ Premium).
Also XZ1 has 8.0 not 7.1.1

No stereo speakers

No 4K hdr
No QC 3.0
Low brightness and poor colors for amoled ( 8000K)

And still you think both should cost same ...
How much does OP spend on R/D?
What new stuff does OP bring?
Anonymous, 28 Jul 2017never knew apple ran a charity with their 649/749$ phones. This (if written price is correct) ... moreHow can they convince?
-best of the best camera
-most energy efficient 1080p display with no issues about lack of sharpness
-better battery management (3K Sony battery beats 5K Samsung battery)
-better heat management (name another phone that can record 4K videos for unlimited time)
-better software and optimization (definitely)
-better updates and support (this phone will be the first to run Android 8.0 out of the box)
-best audio capability (where do you find dual front facing stereo speakers and LDAC on similarly priced phones)
-best fingerprint scanner location (laying down on the table or upside down, placement when unlocking it will always be more convenient)
-always has unique design (not a copycat of anything)
-have consistent performance throughout the years (Xperia Z2 devices from 2014 are still in perfect condition even today)
-no unnecessary gimmicks or so
And if no one would still be interested of picking one, Idk wtf will be the problem with people like you anymore.

You probably criticized Sony for using 4K HDR on smartphone, as it is overkill for smartphones, yet you're bashing again for using a more energy efficient 1080p display, given content creators only produce contents in 4K and 1080p and not even 2K.
How about be satisfied of what you can just get today?
Premium is about practicality, not numbers, and I wish you have known that already.

S8 and U 11 are only single shooter yet they beat pretty much every dual cameras right now.
The only dual camera that I surely love is from Huawei.

Bebe Rexha, 27 Jul 2017They changed the camera game with the announcement of IMX400. Tell me that this isn't serious. Lol.Sorry but from what I've seen so far, the 'smartphone camera' game that's going right now is the Dual-Camera battle, sir. A bit unfortunate for Sony, but props to them for trying

I'm saying this on behalf of Sony you know. .
NotAFanboyy, 28 Jul 2017Sony can offer quality at lower prices, pricing $300 more than competitors like OnePlus is a p... moreDude, You made an SD 820, 3200 mAh, 1440 oled for $400 yet you are saying $600-700 is too much for a flagship phone right after just tearing it down?
It is not that simple!
It is undeniable that every company is profit oriented but during the process of manufacturing it is more complex, there are several phases
1. Pre Production
- Doing RnD to bring something new to the market not just slaping what is available (it costs a lot and remember there are lots of workers to be paid and given salary. It is completely different from individual works that just tear it down and re-install the components)
- the RnD isn't merely the hardware but the software either (it might cost more than hardware)
- Paying lisences and Royalties for the patents they using from other companies
- Buying components
2. During Production
- Manufacturing process, yes there are still many workers need to be given salary note that the machines need maintenance too
3. After Production
- Shipping Cost
- Marketing Advertisement
- Giving CSR to societies/country
All in all it costs a lot to manufacture not only Sony but all! $600-700 is decent price for flagship
Bebe Rexha, 28 Jul 2017Not Sony's problem if you can't afford their products.
This is a mainstream serious flagship ... morenever knew apple ran a charity with their 649/749$ phones. This (if written price is correct) will cost 100-200 more than that. Also most big brand flagship phones (u11,g6,s8 etc) would be cheaper by than the new one by around 250 bucks. How will they convince consumers in ÚS to buy their phones without fingerprint scanners (and with same hardware) for that price?
Same for rest of the world, even with fps
