Yes I'm not a fan of them. Just look at iphone 8 hump. That is just disgusting to me. I'm using a z3 and use my phone on flat surfaces all the time so the thought of a phone rocking back and forth just racks my brain. Hoping the Mi Mix 2 is flat. Got my eyes on that one!
Flat is the best. But if you use case humps isn't that bad.

The Blackberry Z10 has no hump, which did surprise me as I thought all phones had a hump.
The Z10 is thicker than what would pass for a flagship today, but I that phones may be getting too thin that guarantees a hump, so those that avoid it by not going too thin get my vote.
The hump exposes the camera, those who insist on no case, the camera is integrated so I would imagine camera repairs would be if possible more than half the phones original cost
Flat is best, but hump is definitely not a deal breaker if the phone makes up for it with camera quality.

Not like iphone....
A hump is as good-looking as a wart. If you like them...then good for you.
The worst trend lately is to have a hump but no OIS (like the OnePlus 5), which is really stupid and lazy from the manufacturers.
Poll results show what people want. They want slim phone at the sacrifice of photo quality. Most of them do not understand why the hump is needed. They go by MP of the camera and hence do not want hump.
i dont mind camera hump .. Bt it depends on company how well they have designed the phone and how and where it is placed... I ilke the moto z camera hump bt not iphones camera
I own a oneplus 3 and it has the camera bump, but it doesn't matter me because its made of saffire so its not that easy to scratch... But even if its flat and not scratch resistant then its of no use... Because anyhow your phone is going to be in contact of dust which can cause it to scratch... If it has a rim around the camera than its good...

It depends. If the camera module is in the middle, I can still lay the phone on the table and use it. The lens is not touching the table surface, only the camera module frame is, like my A3. So the lens is safe. This allows for OIS and larger sensors to be used. But if the camera module is at one corner like the upcoming iPhones, it is impossible to use the phone on a table because it will be slanted to one side. Still can't understand how Apple engineers can come up with such a stupid design.

I've tried the A5 2017 (no hump at all) and it felt weird. I don't know. Maybe I'm just used to humps. But the iPhone 8 hump... No.
> after all i'm sure after you bought the phone you will bought a case with it.
Why is everyone using a case? I expect that a phone is robust enough to survive without using a case to protect it.
As long as it is an iphone, then there’s no problem. I love my iphone 7+
I don't mind bumps, as long as they are in the center of the phone! Side bump is baddest bump of all.
If the camera is better with a hump i'm fine with it, or like the article say, make it thicker to cover the hump then put in bigger battery.
