> In reply to angry jeffrey @ 2011-05-30 12:11 from Tr8a - click to readThe point is that there still people with this phone in the market, not everyone can buy another phone between 6 and 6 months, this mentality is stupid. It's good to see that Sony Ericsson haven't abandoned their older users even with a new flagship on the market like you see from other manufacturers.

I don't get it, why they make 2.1.something update if they say that there will be 2.3.3, I think that this 2.1.something is waste of time, that they could spend on 2.3.3 update, now I still can't update phone, but I don't expect 16M color support or 8Mp 16:9 photos, because, now, 8Mp 4:3 photos aren't so good, my previous phone (Elm with 5Mp) made (I think) quite better quality photos :)

it's very good that SE is offering updates to its rather old device.
but I don't think that SE is doing this out of pure kindness, but mainly because there are many countries in which x10 is still the only major sony ericsson device being sold - the arc/neo/neo pro/play haven't arrived yet... so SE is doing this to keep it's only main device competitive.
and another thing: at the time arc and neo arrives to these countries, they would be obsolete - because devices like samsung GS2 would be already available...
so sony ericsson shouldn't be surprised if its selling a lot fewer than the competition!
and remember that SE still has no device with a dual core + 1080p video capture device...
they should be faster with their development and release of models. now they are not competitive enough - and this is the reason why SE has poor business results!

Maybe this update is essential prior to the release of Gingerbread (2.3.3) for Xperia X10. This update is not yet available in Saudi Arabia though.
