im Facing the Death Grip issue and it realy is there for both GSM and WiFi signals also have an Iphone 4 and the death grip issue is greater in Sensation than Iphone 4
What is wrong with these HTC fanboys? I've noticed this issue in couple of reviews and obviously many people (not ALL) are having an issue with it. Same goes for its screen, death grip, etc. Whenever there is a legitimate issues with HTC phones the fanboys get so defensive and bring up other devices and go "look, this device has that too" like a school girl. I don't understand why they would give up their rights as a consumer and blindly defend a corporation that exists to make money. They are just as bad, if not worse, than apple fanboys.
What a load of rubbish & panic mongering!
I've had the HTC Sensation for 2 months now and the only scare was 1 time with trying to unlock the lock ring. Not happened since!
Ok, occasionally I get a restart after using an app but nothing to indicate that the phone is broken or won't be fixed with a firmware update (or a fix to that app).
HTC is quality, the phones are quality & they've been winning awards since they took up the mantle.
Recall? What for?
Petition? What the hell?!
Death grip? If you hold the phone is some awkward unlikely way you might suffer connectivity issues? Duh.
I've had loads of fun with the HTC Hero and now that the Sensation has been S-OFFed and rooted, the sky is the limit.
I look fwd to a good year+ of ROM updates with the HTC Sensation.
To each their own, some prefer the SGS2 or the iPhone and some like me love the HTC Sensation/other models.
Live & let live and stop all the bashing!

Strange that i have this device for a month & change & yet i don't face any of these issues at all....except battery life, which is a complain for most android devices, but with what the Sensation does... battery life is the least of my worries besides i just charge it when i get home everyday... i'm very happy with my HTC. Love the UI, as stated each and every element is personalized ..... SSSWWEEETTTTT!
,Htc recently suffering these kind of hanging problems so i suggest xperia arc either nokia n8 xperia outstanding with android no,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
i have been using htc sensation since two months..i noticed this screen being unresponsive initially as i was using htc desire hd previously which has a flat screen compared to sensation... issue was the way i treated it .. didnt realise that my finger is not actually getting in contact with screen due to curve .. later just changed my style of gliding my fingers across well and there u go .. things are pretty cool...i feel due to various minor bugs senstation is still immature and i trust HTC for being supportive as always.. people out there .. i think we wont get dissapointed as this dual core is gonna be better soon with a firmware update

PS: the issue with the screen stopped suddenly and now it working like before but i`m expecting to see this problem again as maybe the OS needs an update. If this will not help than HTC is in big trouble.

Same problem on my second Sensation.Plus the issue with the camera, with some blue lines on the screen and on the photo itself after, maybe caused by i don`t know what.
HTC should do a recall. They should make a public apology and publish it on newspapers, blog sites like Engadget, Gizmodo, and BGR, on Facebook, on Best Buy and major retail chains. Expect some class action lawsuits if HTC won't acknowledge the defect. This defect affects a high number of Sensation worldwide and is trully a dealbreaker. HTC should be ashamed of themselves.
Kudos to GSMArena for publishing this article. The public should know about the defect so they can avoid falling victim into this HTC touchscreengate that they won't even ackowledge. GSMArena did the right thing and being silent on the issue will not make it go away.
The good thing is there are better alternatives like the Nokia N8, E7, X7, and C7. All of them are good and have better camera than the Sensation and they don't suffer from deathgrip, and touchscreen sensitivity issues. Check them out guys.
Anonymous, 04 Aug 2011Why does it seem like the eds are gsmarena here have an axe to grind with the sensation? The d... morei agree with u
i have mt sensation and its ok
i dont have any touch screen problem
and about the death grip i face it one time when i was far from my router i think it happen as the signal was poor in the place and still the phone was able to play youtube
HTC are so poorly built I took one of these to try out and experienced problems with unlocking the set, as well as the status bar playing up and when I access the photos and view them in big and flick through fast the phone freezes up and a battery pull is needed, this was after 2 days of using the handset with average use.
I am having the same problem too.. and its my 2nd sensation. Both having same problems
I faced the issue once or twice, but it disappeared after few seconds - no restart was required.
Overall the phone is very stable and I did restarted it maybe 3-4 times only for over a month of use.
My wife's Galaxy S had much worse stability issues :)
There is a temporary fix for this.
Have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129272
Just to summarize, use the phone until the battery dies, pull out the battery for a few minutes, put it all back and charge it fully. The most important think is NOT to play with the phone while is charging. Do this cycle two or three times and it should be ok.
As long as you don't use the phone while is charging the problem doesn't come back. This worked for me and many others.

Why does it seem like the eds are gsmarena here have an axe to grind with the sensation? The death grip issue is not consistent across handsets and all the reports seem to focus on a pair of videos prior to launch.
The touch screen issue? The posts are xda-developers aren't even individual posts. The number of pages is mainly due to repeated complaints by the same individuals.
Furthermore, gsmarena needs to be updated. The sensation bootloader has been cracked and unlocked by developers. It is indeed possible to flash custom roms since last weekend.
